Bloodywood is a band from New Delhi. They blend metal with traditional Indian folk instruments. It sounds hokey, but it’s done brilliantly.
This video for “Tadka” is badass. It’s a song about cooking, family, and respect for women/elders. It’s everything you wouldn’t expect from a metal song.
But it slays. If you love metal, get ready to move your body.
Hello! It's my first post here (#newhere) and I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm a musician from Eastern France, playing medieval instruments and recording pagan folk / neo folk music. I've released two albums so far: Leaves Are Falling (full length, in 2020, feat. among others Michalina Malisz, ex-Eluveitie) and Prelude to Farewell (EP, 2024). Currently on the Council of the Folklore Society, Associate Editor of its journal Folklore, & on the editorial board of #FolkMusic Journal. Until end of year I'm Research Fellow on #FolkloreWithoutBorders research network on EDI in British folkloristics.
