A new thematic #map arrived: https://mapcomplete.org/ski
It features an interactive display of:
- #ski pistes
- #aerialways
- 3D-visualisation of the terrain
- various useful POI, such as #guideposts, information boards, #restaurants mountain #rescue stations, ...
All data is of course based on #OpenStreetMap (with the addition of height data and aerial imagery of course)
This might or might not be created because @pietervdvn went #skiing last week ;)
I was suprised that a small #ski resort such a #Benecko has an online skipass shop nowadays. It's cool. No queues, there is just an machine issueing the skipass card by scanning the barcode.
One small issue is, that you need to visit the ticket office when you want to return the deposited card. And the office is only at the bottom lift station. Not cool if you are parking elsewhere.
