@cordova5029 nope, that's definitely an extreme2 spin it. Also it's still quite rough, it's not playing nearly as smoothe as I'd like and a few of the beats are wrong, etc, but like, yeah, it works
@TheQuinbox mainly, the code. I hate the way Bop It Emulator's code works. It's super inaccurate and the emulation is very poor, due to the way it works. Also ... No classes, everything's global. Also the battery drain code was written pre NVGT, so doesn't make use of timer accuracy. So many things, I could go on and on
I'm not so sure I really get the point? Like personally I've gotten no greif for my usage of Claude in Fedra and even somewhat Paperback, I even had AI translate my strings and then someone just fixed them. I'm not saying it doesn't happen of course, only you know your life, but a better solution may be cutting off the source (e.g. do you follow a couple really anti-AI people, read some news articles, etc.), rather than abandoning the amazingness that is open source collaberation.

I look at my home TL a lot, but I am incredibly, incredibly selective about who I follow. Social media is different for everyone, but for me, it's the place I go to get cool tech news, post about my software, and get a laugh. I won't follow someone who constantly puts down what I do. I follow people who are much more opposed to AI than I am, and I'm fine with that, because they're not posting about how my app is shitty because it used AI, because it's not. They're just posting/boosting things about the negatives of AI, which is fair. But, it's a bit like pandora's box. I think that "do you actually understand the code Claude has given you" is a fair question, but not when you do it like this and then give an unlabeled image as your source, lmao. Did you actually remove the mastodon.py license?

@TheQuinbox I literally just looked at that and yeah that's fucked up. I'm not really anti-AI as is commonly displayed. I'm more anti-AI in the sense of I want people who use AI to actually understand what it's doing. If you can articulate good prompts or work on your code without AI, or if you can vibe code something but understand how it works, then that there is a fine use of AI. Hell, I used AI in parts of Prism. Not big parts, but I did use it
@TheQuinbox As long as you do actually read what the bot gives you and understand what it's doing, it's just a tool. I prefer to think of it as a boilerplate generator, wrapping APIs and UI programming. In order words, the tedious bits. If it's implementing any of the logic, you can be damn sure I'm going to check its work. And you know Python and have worked on such clients before, so I imagine you know what you're doing. One of my friends who spoke about being wary of, say, Fedra because of its use of AI coding backed off after understanding the way it was used. The biggest objection to the tools, really, isn't something we can do anything about. That they exist because someone, likely GitHub themselves, pillaged millions of repositories, with no regard for the license of the code or possibly even public/private status, in order to train these things. That's almost certainly ultimately the reason MS even bought GitHub, and why the Arctic Code Vault exists.

@NicksWorld What's real fun is the time scaling. It took me multiple hours of trial and error to accurately emulate the Click It's drums in javascript a few years ago.

@TheQuinbox @acerbt It's really funny, if you were to look at the bop it emulator code, and then compare the original vs extreme code and then look at extreme2, it's completely different. This is actually the first bop it that I'm trying very damn hard to actually emulate correctly, rather than just be like oh, yep, that sounds right. I don't know why but this year I kinda decided to take the EG community way more seriously.
