I truly don't get how FedEx is still in business. This is my second package in 2 years that's on its 3rd delivery day. Not in transit, mind you, just failed/missing delivery attempts with no explanation other than "we'll try again." Guessing it's stuck on a truck circling Austin while they come up with today's excuse.

I'm sure other delivery companies have their challenges but FedEx ranks up there with the worst. My partner used them to send a Christmas gift to her sister a few years back and all that arrived was a busted-up empty box with a "Sorry for what happened to your package" note attached. Like, at that point don't deliver the damn empty box, just write it off as a loss! I can't even...

I have said this several times but it bears repeating now:

A very large portion of the Fediverse values tone over substance. "Politeness" and "civility" over what people are actually saying.

This leads to a constant background noise of just rancid replies that are all phrased in a superficially "nice" tone.

Justified anger and non-diplomatic push-back however is heavily policed and dismissed as "bad habits" brought over from elsewhere.

Unless this fundamentally changes, it will never be a place that's safe for marginalized people who have to stand up for themselves and face a constant stream of condescension, dismissiveness, and outright hostility.

A lot of the time it absolutely does live up to its reputation as a place where middle aged white cis men tell you how your perspective and expertise don't matter, and where you better watch your mouth when talking back to them.

Wasn't Thunderbolts supposed to be a TV series instead of a movie??

I used to like that most Brazilian doctors' offices have Whatsapp numbers, because I didn't have to call during business hours to ask for an appointment--if I texted in the evening they'd usually respond the next morning. But lately they've all been getting shitty auto-responders, so if I don't remember to text during business hours there's a good chance the human receptionist will never actually see my message. But there's also no way to find out what that particular office's business hours are

A new update to Leasey version 9 should be made available on Thursday with the following changes:

Word Quick Navigation Keys. Leasey can remember the state of Quick Navigation on a document by document basis.
Check the documentation for details.

Microsoft CoPilot. JAWS no longer uses Application Mode and instead uses traditional web page navigation. This prevents JAWS from moving into and out of Navigation Mode particularly in lists of items.
In addition, if you move out of CoPilot and back to it, the virtual cursor is located in the correct position on the page.

VLC Media Player. In JAWS 2024, the total and elapsed time scripts are now functioning again.

Emoji. When using the Leasey key then Control+Shift+E, the correct emoji character is once again inserted into the document or text edit area. This was broken in the previous build, 9027.

Outlook Attachments. When using Windows11, and the Leasey file attachments list, copying and pasting into File Explorer should now be working again.

Microsoft Word. The list of recent documents is now functioning.

A note concerning Enafore scripts.
These will not be included in Leasey version 9. While the scripting itself is of a good standard, it is difficult to imagine how anyone would want to work with Mastodon in this way due to focus refreshing and the fact that you need to work through a timeline in reverse order. These have been shelved for the time being.

It is envisaged that the next update to Leasey will support JAWS version 2025.

It's a Monday! Still thinking about last night's Hozier concert, so much fun! Somehow the opener (Allison Russel) was a lot clearer in vocals , which was a bit surprising- they washed out his voice a lot with reverb and you could hear the back-ups better, but those issues were not there when he spoke normally or they did a vocal duet. Of course he saved the "Too Sweet" and "Take me to Church" songs for last few, since everyone knows them, so it was a way to get to know his other music.

I've reached the stage of my life where my "n acute" shortcut was broken for almost an entire week, and I didn't even notice.

Apparently you're not supporting IMAP. Is your "desktop client" at least an actual client that I can use to download my mail, or just another Electron wrapper around a website that I can't use offline? Been trying to get an answer for that for a while now.

Pri mŕtvych ťahoch som si presilil spodok chrbta... takmer akoby na kostrči cítim tupú bolesť, už sa mi to stalo ale @Nheghathivhist1 neexistuje prosím ťa nejaký life hack? Ja mám ale skôr pocit že je to zlou technikou, stávalo sa mi to aj pri drepoch...

@Cyb3rrunn3r ich wundere mich ja auch, dass eine "gesichert rechtsextreme" Partei überhaupt zur Wahl antreten darf. Aber darum geht es an dieser Stelle nicht. Hier geht es um ein so genanntes "Sicherheitspaket", das seinen Namen nicht verdient, und klar am Ziel vorbei schießt. Statt mehr Sicherheit schafft es eher mehr Probleme. Lösen tut es eher keine...

I play lowfi in the background a lot because it makes for good fun idle ambience. Now my Spotify thinks I really, really, really love Lowfi. I only play it in the background. I don't actively listen to it. You can imagine what this has done to all of my algorithms :(

@talon Omg yes I am having this exact same problem. A friend of mine who really does love lowfi came over last month, put it on and then we both fell asleep. Now my Spotify keeps playing it no matter how many I skip through. :D

Bylo to fakt už předem jasné. Manželka se snažila tady na Liberecku aspoň o pár letáků před volbami, jelikož tu jsou Piráti trvale neviditelní (na rozdíl od plakátů a banerů od prolhaných stran typu SPD/ANO/KSČM), nějaká paní od Pirátů vysvětlila, že je úmysl nemít nikde mimo oficiální plochy plakáty, protože by to Piráty zdiskreditovalo. A že bude ten a ten den v časové rozmezí ve Frýdlantu na náměstí, kam můžeme pro letáky přijet. Byli jsme tam, paní nikde, ani žádný stánek apod.

Další lékařské okénko: Dnes u lékaře po viroze, kde se mi po vysokých teplotách udělalo hejno oparů, kde i sám lékař se lekl a vykulil oči. Klasika to vše přes víkend, kde je vše uzavřeno, a čas je klíčový. Dostala jsem nejen mast ale i herpesinove tablety a vitamíny B. No krásný to podzim. Dnes mě ještě čeká další návštěva u lékaře.
