@RaccoonForFriendica Finally we have a Weblate project for the translations of the app UI, changelogs and metadata. Hope this will help us all create a better user experience and correct some localization mistakes!

suggestion: F-Droid will not use those translated changelogs in Fastlane. (Except if the update was pushed after translations were added) To prevent people from doing unneeded translation work, go in English and add a `read-only` flag to them. + when new ones are added

@lucasmz โˆž I only wanted to make the short and long descriptions translated (not even the changelogs) but I didn't find any way to do it except creating different components for each file which seems a bit of an overkill... Do you have any suggestion? I'll delete the "metadata" component in case and recreate it as needed.

Personally the approach I talked about was the only one I was able to do with InnerTune's, apparently there's an open issue about this, I wouldn't recreate anything just leave it as is in this case

ah. i say set that to read only because it also causes translations to be read only hence untranslatable. That's fine.

(As an alternative you could also regularly wipe away old changelogs in the source code)

being able to edit source strings is cool and all but it can end up causing issues (e.g. a single user editing sources, either vandalizes them or just a basic change or something, causing translators of getting notified of the change.. Etc

IIRC there was a voting system which could work as well but I haven't looked much into it I just kept it so that source code controls it only lol

@lucasmz โˆž Thanks for the suggestion... I managed to exclude changelogs and the title using key masks, moreover I set all source messages as read-only for both components (if there are errors in English, people will either submit pull requests or open an issue in the tracker).

@Thomas I'll release a beta soon so that you will be able to see your changes "in place". Don't worry, everything can be changed in the future if more reviews are needed. I am planning to add an "acknowledgements" section in the app to give credit to you and the other ones who helped out.
