No matter how hyped #
AI gets for the blind, I always remind myself that I've not seen any, not one, of these AI companies hiring for #
accessibility experts or #
blind people. Not OpenAI, not Anthropic, and not Mistral. So even if we pay $20 per month, we get a second-rate experience with all of these bots' web interfaces, and almost all of their mobile apps. No, they let API users make better interfaces. of course, without their flashy web search, data analysis, or plugin tools. They'll talk about Be My AI all they want, and journalists will hype their accessibility potential whether they're worthy of it or not, but we must always remember this. They do, and will, leave us behind. Just like web frameworks, website builder platforms, and closed-source social networks will if they feel like they can get away with it. Because right now, they are. And they don't care. They don't *have* to care. And if we want them to care, we have to regulate them into giving even a cursory damn.
