Do you know an very lightweight multi-platform audio player / recorder / converter app called #phiola?
Since version 2.9 released on github some 20 hours ago, rrecording functionality of its #android variant can be controlled by executing intent actions. So we can use our automation apps of choice to map buttons, gestures whatever to these actions. For example with #corvus, I can now start and stop audio recording even from the lock screen with proper custom screen reader actions setup to call these intents.

For now I’m sticking with Easy Voice Recorder Pro as it has useful home screen widgets to control recordings. I tried Phiola a while ago, but unfortunately the app wasn’t accessible at the time. The current version doesn't appear to have improved in this respect. The Windows GUI still contains many unlabelled controls. I haven’t tested the current Android app yet.

@Steffen Incidentally I have never used windows / linux versions of #phiola. Android version is fully accessible it uses native UI controls almost everywhere, even those having no text are clearly labelled for accessibility. I am not sure easy recorder pro is available for installing on latest android versions such as android 16 and android 17.
Phiola is really very very lightweight it can record long sessions to MP3, flac and other audio formats. A future improvement for Phiola might be ability to prelisten the microphone when setting up the microphone gain.
