"Heroes" would be hard because, IMO, it takes a village, and people eventually get caught up in their celebrity. I'm thankful for GnuPG, Tuta, Proton, Thunderbird...hell, FOSS in general.

The many authors/contributors (programming, writing, translations, financial support, planning, (security) research, etc.) of great FOSS software and libraries. And the people who campaign for the right to encryption, digital rights, etc. in parliaments, foundations, associations, etc.

#signal of course and #joplin for my notes. Joplin is not widely spread but it is encrypted and I use it to make notes on my laptop and phone and synchronise them.
