I don't run it in docker because that would be a lot of overhead for a 1 GB node. But I use the official server. I have a rough shell script to set everything up with a user and a systemd service, and I can confirm that it works on Debian:
curl get.nvra.io | bash

I'm using jmdaweb/nvda-remote-server:latest in my lan, but I also have the .deb package installed on my VPS, both working fine. I think that docker image was the one that was just linked in the github repo.
