We hear you: it IS frustrating that Thunderbird doesn't have a proper conversation view! It's finally time to answer WHY, and explain what we're doing to solve it.

It all started about 20 years ago...

How do I do non-spam emails from Goomba into the junk folder without disabling that feature?
in reply to Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox

there's a good addon for this.

But I'm wondering why is there still no sync solution for the RSS feeds? Nextcloud news, freshrss, tiny tiny.....

Correcting a point in the video: the Thunderbird Conversations add-on is still supported and works (disclaimer: I support it).

There's a few rough edges in the latest versions (mainly that encrypted messages don't work - also due to Thunderbird's technical debt).

I plan to support it the best I can at least until there's equivalent functionality in Thunderbird itself.

@Standard8 Thank you for all your hard work on the add-on, Mark. No doubt it has brought some satisfaction to a bunch of Thunderbird users.

I'll make a note of this in the description and pinned comments of the video.

@Standard8 Hi Mark, so sorry for the misinformation. I remember that at one point you couldn't support it and I didn't notice that you were still active.
Thank you so much for keeping it up! ❤️

Yes, that is an add-on maintained by the excellent @Standard8. And he has done a great service to so many of our users.

However, this really should be a native feature. And that’s important in the event a developer can no longer maintain an add-on.

Not a problem at all for me. I don't like conversation view. I turn it off in other apps. I want SENT and INBOX separate, always.
