Today we're releasing #LibreOffice 24.2.2, the second update to our new 24.2 branch (with "year.month" version scheme). We've also updated the previous and older LibreOffice 7.6 branch too: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2024/03/28/libreoffice-24-2-2-and-7-6-6-community/ #foss #opensource #news

LibreOffice reshared this.

Still waiting for the update on the paid macOS version. Any idea when it's coming to the App-Store?

@selfpublisher Probably with the LibreOffice 24.2.3 release, in a few weeks, for some extra testing!

Please go back to proper version numbers.

The new scheme is confusing and makes you look silly

@Waxingtonknee Thanks for the feedback! Many end-users requested a version number that has more meaning, ie "year.month", which they find simpler and more meaningful than two arbitrary numbers. Sorry you find it confusing, but we think it's helpful to show users immediately how old (or new!) their version is, with the clear "year.month" scheme.

@Waxingtonknee yes! I personally also agree to it. It is so much better, because the version number also shows a time. There is nothing confusing about it or is it because of American confusing standard date format?
