The Release Candidate of NVDA 2024.4.2 is now available for testing. We encourage all users to download this RC and provide feedback.

This is a patch release to fix bugs with braille devices and reading math in Chromium. Fixed bug with with reading math in Chromium Browsers (Chrome, Edge). Humanware Brailliant BI 40X devices running firmware version 2.4 now work as expected.

Hi, just tried to update to new version and getting error saying another version is open on another logged in account, which is not the case, but for some reason it can't delete lots of files it wants to. Have tried restarting NVDA and doing again.

Hmm, weirder and weirder, my NVDA still offers me the update to 24.4.2, but when I try it it fails, and when Ido about, it says 2024.4.2

Wait, Irestart NVDA again, and about is back to 24.4.1 so when the update fails, it leaves the installer copy running, and said copy doesn't read the results when I type into the start menu like my 2024.4.1 does

Just to let you know, I discovered that a number of things were broken in my Windows, when Narrator and NVDA both stopped working today. The problems start in Narrator by having any of the natural voices selected, but after Iuninstalled NVDA a few times and reinstalled the latest VB, Imanaged to get it all working again
