For this year’s LibreOffice Conference we had two location proposals: Luxembourg and Budapest. Members of The Document Foundation voted to choose the final location, and we can announce that Budapest is the winner.
@danilasch What does "more modern" mean? That's a very vague and subjective expression 😉 Have you tried the tabbed user interface? If so and you still don't like it, have you considered helping our Design community volunteers to implement the changes you want?
I'm not a designer, I work in logistics. Let's say we see what the closest competitors look like WPS and OnlyOffice either brainstorm or do a survey, whether users like the design, what they want to see.

In Viktor Orban's Hungary? Is this a joke? I've been a LibreOffice user for many many years, and I'm appalled that you're having the conference in a location whose government is actively supporting Russia, and undermining the EU? Where many in our community cannot go because of oppression and exclusion?

Are you able to issue a statement explaining why Orban's Hungary was chosen?
I know it was a vote, but given the choice is unwelcoming for some people, perhaps an explanation would be helpful to explain the thinking.
Maybe the thinking was "we'll promote good values in a hostile environment through the event" - which is at least a strategy.

I wanted to write formally to ask about this but I can't find any contact method on the main website.
Many #opensource organisations want to be open and inclusive, and many have values that align to human rights and democracy for all.
I'm sure LO and TDF do too - so writing formally gives you an opportunity to explain choosing to hold this in Orban's Hungary.
