iPhone Tip. Creating LockScreen Widgets

Basically this lets you totally customize your lock screen. From the background wallpaper, the clock and calendar you have, to any widgets you want to have.

You can have multiple lock screens, that you can use at different times. You can even link a focus to a particular lock screen.

1, On the lock screen, put focus on the time, then do a single finger triple tap.

2, To start the process, swipe to the add button and double tap.

3, This will bring up the wallpaper choices. The first thing to do is to pick out a wallpaper. There are many to choose from; just double tap on the one you want. Once you get to featured, just know that everything is listed in groups organized by headings. Personally, I keep my simple and just choose a color. The one I choose is called Color Radiant.

4, Once your wallpaper is chosen, it will take you to the actual lock screen model that you are creating and adding your widgets too. The following things can be found on this screen:
A. Cancel button. The first thing is a cancel button, and this allows you to stop the process at any time.

B. Add. This is the button you will hit once you are totally done everything.

C. Calendar, top widget. This is what displays the current date on your lock screen. You can double tap this to change to many options. I have never changed this because I like the default date the way it is on my lock screen.

D. Clock widget. This is what displays the current time on your lock screen. You can double tap this if you want to change the font used to display the time.

E. Add Widget. This is what you choose to add other widgets to your lock screen, like current weather conditions, next calendar event, and other widgets of apps that you have on your phone.

5. Now to add additional widgets to your lock screen.

Now there are 2 sizes in lock screen widgets; small, circle in shape, and large, rectangle in shape.

You can have the following combinations of lock screen widgets.
4 small, circle widgets.
2 Large, rectangle widgets.
1 large, rectangle widget, and 2 small, circle widgets.

Ok, here we go.

A. Hit the Add widget button.

B. At the beginning of the list, you will see some recommended widgets for you. If you keep swiping, you will come to batteries, which starts the alphabetical list. Once you find the name of the app you want to add a widget for, double tap on it. You will then be put in a list of the widgets for that app. It is important that you listen to the description of the widget because it also tells you the size, whether it is a circle or rectangle widget. Once you pick out the widget you want, double tap it to add it to your lock screen. To go back, the close button is at the end of that screen.

C. Once you have added the widgets you want, then you can go back to the lock screen you are making with your new widgets.

D. Now some widgets can be custimized. (1/2)

To see if any of the widgets can be customized, flick up on each widget to see if edit is one of the choices.

E. if you choose the wrong widget or change your mind about a widget, to delete it, just flick up on the widget, and choose remove from the list.

F. Once you get all of the widgets you want and your all done, just go back up to that add button by the cancel button and double tap it.

6. Now it will put you back in the original place where you first started and hit the add button. The Widget screen you just created should be first in the list, but it will tell you what widgets are included, so just listen to the description to make sure. Just double tap it to add it as your current lock screen.

I hope these instructions has been helpful.
