Trying out this enafore thingy. Don't know how often I'll use this, when I can just as easily use something like Tweesecake. Ahh well, at least there's options, right? I wonder how this would perform with the #btspeak

@glaroc The cost of the BT Braille is $4495.00.

Do you have a favorite application that you regularly use on your BT Speak? Are there features that you use a lot that you know like the back of your hand?
Do you wish you could share your knowledge and excitement about that app with other BT Speak users? Our newest contest will give you the opportunity to do just that!
We invite you to submit a short audio tutorial to us explaining how you perform a specific activity or use a certain feature in a BT Speak application.
You can record your tutorial on whatever audio device you prefer to use. This can be for an application that’s already on the BT Speak or it can be with an application that you’ve installed. Whether it’s accessing a function in the agenda calendar, using a feature in Thunderbird or using a third party extension in one of our Web browsers, the sky’s the limit as to what you could show us. Have your BT Speak on hand as you record your tutorial so we can hear exactly what happens as you’re teaching us.
Try to keep your tutorial at a maximum of 10 minutes. The winner will receive a Tozo O2 Bluetooth headset as well as having their submission posted to our Web site and to our YouTube channel. Send us your audio tutorial by emailing it as an attachment to info@blazie.net.
Deadline for submissions is July 17, 2025.
Bring out the inner teacher in you and help other users to learn more about how they can use their BT Speak.

We have added many updates to the BT Speak users’ manual. This third edition reflects the BT Speak’s new streamlined menus but also includes many other additions, including more on using the editor and the file browser.
The manual is included in the latest BT Speak update under Options, Help, Guides and Tutorials, the Users’ Manual. Like the previous editions, it provides extensive heading navigation, allowing you to easily move across chapters and subsections.
The manual is also available as a markdown file on our Web site’s Guides and Media page.

Calling the BT Speak's primary menu the options menu might have a retro feel for many blind consumers, as the Braille 'n Speak and other legacy products from Blazie Engineering also assigned O-chord to open an Options menu.

Tim Noonan, our lead developer and product owner, has recorded an audio walk-through explaining and demonstrating the BT Speak's new streamlined menu system. You can either download it as an mp3 file or you are free to play it right from our Web site.
For those who enjoy listening to and learning from audio tutorials, Tim’s walk-through is a great way to get acquainted with the new streamlined menus.
You will find this tutorial on the main page of our Web site.

The BT Speak's radio tuner now offers over 56,000 radio stations. A new update is not needed to gain access to these new entries. All you have to do is to update your BT Speak's station database by going to Options, Applications, Media, Radio Tuner, Refresh the Station Database. Happy listening! #BTSpeak

If you have installed the May 2025 software update, you can already read this new edition of the manual on your BT Speak, complete with relevant links and lots of headings. Just go to Options, Help, Guides and Tutorials, the Users’ Manual.

In the May 2025 update, version 1.1 of our users’ manual is now available under Options, Help, Guides and Tutorials.
It has many additions since the last update and it also includes headings, allowing for heading navigation. Because the manual loads in our new smart reader, this means that you can search for text and you can copy part or all of the manual and paste it into a new file. This also means that if you paste the manual into a file with a .brl extension, you’ll have a translated version of the manual according to the Braille table you are using.

Today, I celebrate my one year anniversary of working for Blazie Technologies. Truth be told, I had been providing feedback on the BT Speak Pro as a volunteer beta tester while I was still an employee at Comcast working as a product manager. Of course, I was not able to talk about the BT Speak in those days as it was still very much a secret project but I was thrilled to help test what would eventually be a brand new device, similar to the Braille ‘n Speak for the modern age.

The original Braille ‘n Speak was also a major part of my life. After buying a BNS Classic in 1989, I used it professionally in two different roles to help me manage data, along with using it as my only computer for managing contacts, creative writing and going online. I soon realized that I’d love to work for the company that developed it. I was in contact with Blazie Engineering fairly often, submitting bug reports and sometimes answering questions from other users on their bulletin board system, a type of online service that many of us engaged with before the Internet became a thing.

In 1991, my wish came true and I worked for Blazie Engineering primarily doing tech support as well as writing some of the user documentation, software beta testing and continuing to answer users’ questions on the BBS, later doing so on the first Blazie mailing list. Sounds remarkably like the job that I have now. 😀 Even in those early days, I wasn’t looking enough at the big picture. I didn’t view that role as the potential start of a career. I was a lot younger then and pretty much saw it as a cool job to have, which I admit it was. However, it did launch my career in this field, for which I will always be grateful to Deane and Bryan Blazie for making the decision to hire a very inexperienced, young and sometimes rather headstrong, starry-eyed kid.

After being one of those who was impacted by layoffs at my previous employer in October of 2023, I eventually started getting more involved with testing the BT Speak and an eventual opportunity opened to make my role with Blazie Technologies more formal, which I gladly accepted. I would like to thank Bryan and Deane Blazie, along with other members of the Blazie family, for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to be a part of an exciting and innovative project.

Have you considered launching a similar series where you call out tips on using specialized blindness computers, such as the BrailleNote, BrailleSense, etc. It may be too broad of a product portfolio for one show but if that's ever a consideration, please feel free to alert me. I'd be happy to cohost a BT Speak tips and tricks session. #BTSpeak

With the January #BTSpeak update, when you enter the file browser by typing O-chord followed by F, you will now be pointing to the title of the currently open file. This will make it
easier and much faster if you want to perform a task with the open file, such as protecting, renaming or deleting it. Instead of having to navigate through
the file list to find the file’s title, in most cases you’ll be pointing to it as soon as you open the file browser.
