Also, we are currently not planning on adding #gamification. @streetcomplete tried this, but they said it didn't have much effect and it might disalign the incentives (from mapping for the greater good to adding bogus data for the streak - even though I'm not aware of such cases)

I started calling that form of Gamification - its evil dark side - as #Gamipulation.

No, #gamification is simpler in concept and very broad. We all use it in daily life.

If you raised children for instance, did you pretend that the spoon was an airplane when you brought it to your toddlers mouth? That's gamification. Or when you packaged a warm sweater in a present you kid thinks is the Gameboy they crave? Which comes as a surprise after that one. Gamification too.

I do not agree on your take wrt #Gamification, though how you describe it has become how many people have come to see it, knowing it from many ways in which it has been abused.

Jumana Abu-Ghazaleh of Pivot for Humanity shared an article critical of #Metaverse in our #HumaneTechnology linkedin group.

With it the comment that "The Metaverse is basically a #MMORPG , albeit one that just…doesn’t…end". I agree with the article, though have a more nuanced take on the role of #gamification as described there.
