Beautiful Little Yellow 📷

(that's the actual name, not just a description lol)

One of the more challenging butterflies to photograph. They're small & extremely skittish. They prefer the tiny, weedy flowers in the lawn, which makes it difficult to get close without them fluttering away.

And they almost always perch on the underside of leaves or in thick foliage. Hard to get a good camera angle.

I spend ~ a lot ~ of time following them around, just waiting for an opportunity. 😂

Profile view of a Little Yellow butterfly feeding from an extremely tiny yellow flower in my weedy lawn. The butterfly has off-white colored wings with pale yellow around the edges. Markings include a scattering of small, faint brown patches and tiny black spots. I believe the flower is Creeping Cinderella Weed. It is a native groundcover plant with tiny yellow flowers that are approximately 5-10mm in size.
The same Little Yellow butterfly perched underneath a large tropical-looking leaf. It is hanging upside down. Sunlight through the wings illuminates a darker triangular patch at the tip of the forewings. This is due to black markings on the dorsal side of the wings. It's extremely rare to see these butterflies flap their wings, and I've only ever caught a photo of the dorsal side once. The foliage is a Spiral Ginger plant.

A swan on what looks like a collision course – taken as I was standing, apparently in a good spot for flying over, on a hill next to the lake it took off from. It was gaining altitude faster than it was closing the distance, so this didn't feel quite as perilous as it might appear!
