Interesting to read about this new adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Although... am I the only one who remembers ABC radio's Doctor Who parody 'Doctor Poo', and his epic adventure involving 20,000 *Legs* Under the Sea? (It was piloted by the evil Captain Kneemoss - so called because he had moss on his knees).

Just me?

Seems I’m desperate enough to go to the media for help. Yes, the trapped woman in the article below is me.

More info on how to help:: buymeacoffee.com/halcionandon/…

I’ve tried every level of government and they simply won’t help. Please ask people if they have a spare room or somewhere to go. Maybe you have somewhere?

Is anybody a #DisabilityAdvocate? #SocialWorker? Need help.

Please don’t give me contacts for domestic violence orgs. They don’t help disabled people with housing & only offer counselling. Also, that list of disability advocates going around for #Melbourne #Australia (where I am) is outdated - there aren’t any in my catchment. So I’m looking for volunteers with some background.

Thanks for reading

I'm happy to tell a little success story: I found #s3 #BucketI from #Audi. I mailed the #cert of #volkswagen (volkswagen.de/de/mehr/rechtlic…) and they got it offline. The bucket belongs to acap.audiapprenticeship.com.au… and contained tests of people from #australia, but also their IDs/Passports/Driving Licences.

Yesterday the #EU postponed the vote on #ChatControl - a huge win for #privacy 💪

Now we must convince #Australia to do the same.

If not, Australia could become the first #5Eyes to outlaw #encryption 🔒

So. thought I'd pen some thoughts here... no, not about birdsite, but about a cool youtube channel I discovered a couple of years ago, The Radio Vault. Its a youtube channel dedicated to #preservation of mostly New Zealand and Australian radio. They recently announced that they've been hard at work, digitizing over 750 #VHS #tapes, and over 1500 #cassettes. Wow! I can't even begin to imagine what 1500 cassettes would look like! I had about 100 when I was younger, but 1500? *head explodes*. Here's the link. youtube.com/channel/UClKbJxBkh… #Australia #NZ #Radio

A lot of countries employ voting templates to allow blind votees to cast a ballot in local or state elections. It's the same in Poland and in my experience it has been pretty much prone to mistakes such as the ballot paper slipping a fraction underneath the template. This is why I was happy to learn that Australia and New Zealand employed the "voting by phone" system. Blind citizens of these countries are one of the groups elligible to vote by phone. In order to do that, one calls the central voting committee to register, is assigned unique credentials that allow the person taking the vote to identify the elligibility in an anonymous way. On the day of voting, the elligible person calls another number where only the previously agreed credentials are taken from them, the ballot paper is read and the vote is cast by telling the committee representative. Sounds simple and flawless but perhaps there are some security flaws I am not aware of that made it not a more globally adopted solution. Thoughts?
