The demo of DECtalk 4.3 includes a file named WORLD2.WAV, which is used as an example to demonstrate DECtalk's ability to play WAV files with a command. I recently found a higher quality 22 kHz version of this demo file, as part of The Adventures of Ninja Nanny & Sherrloch Sheltie of all things, under the name 1DONARAI.WAV. This version has a time stamp of October 27, 1990. The version included in the DECtalk 4.3 demo has a time stamp of July 13, 1994, and is downsampled to 11025 kHz, but also upsampled to 16 bit for some reason. I still don't know the source, but I suspect it's from a stock music library. For those who've never heard of The Adventures of Ninja Nanny & Sherrloch Sheltie, here's the LGR video covering it. It's supposed to be edutainment, but mostly ends up as a wild mishmash of public domain and stock music material stroon everywhere. youtube.com/watch?v=xSxaUHT3yo…. We estimate there are ~4 times more relays than in the published list at chatmail.at/relays
Many relays are smaller ones, but that's fine. A 5 EUR per month VPS can go a long way (thousands or tens of thousands of monthly users). Thanks for the service to all the operators of which around 40 are in a loose group chat 💗

@ariarhythmic yes, it's not currently limited but don't do more than 3 or max 5. There is no point, and your device will keep open as many network connections. If all your three relays die, you can still add another one then, send a message to your chats, and are in the chat game again.
@Delta Chat @GoFedi Any chance y'all could offer this? Currently I'm running on a dedicated account on my email server, but I don't like how much space its taking up over there.
@GoFedi @Delta Chat I'm not sure its a relay I'm looking for or a host? I do know that my current system is less than ideal and prolly could use a replacement, but I'd still like to keep it on my domain if possible.
@older in some sense of the word^^ we never focused on making it work, so probably some configuration issues would need to be handled. And even if we get that working, there are some relays with which it probably could not communicate, because they can only speak IPv4. So I don't think IPv6-only is worthwhile to pursue.

für den ersten login ist das leider nicht mehr möglich, da es jetzt backends gibts, die teilweise gar kein passwort brauchen.
nachdem du dich einmal erfolgreich eingeloggt hast, sollte sich das system aber merken als welcher user du zuletzt eingeloggt warst und dir wieder ein formulat mit username/password-feldern anzeigen. hast du das schon probiert?
Naja, das geht, zumindest bei mir, solange ich den Browser aktiv/ offen lasse und mich aus und erneut einlogge. Das ist ja aber schon eine seltene Ausnahme, jedenfalls bei mir.
Den Benutzernamen ordnet der PW-Manger immer zu, aber für das PW muss man dann teils zusätzlich in den Optionen des Managers herumklickern. Da geht der Vorteil des Managers bezügl. useability m.M. verloren...

There are people running it on 8 devices easily. What is the problem in your case? (feel free to DM, or dis-engage if you don't want to debug, that's fine).
Or really @delta ? How ? I don't get it. First it is written "add a second device", even if there is already 2 devices connected. And when I am trying to add a third device, scanning the QR gives me an error stating that this QR cannot be used to synchronize a new device.
1) yes, it's a bit a known weakness of "add second device" wording that it implies to some that you can only do two.
2) The "cannot be used to synchronize" may be an update-problem. What are the app versions of the respective two devices where multi-device setup does not work?
Latest Flathub version 2.25.3 cannot import from 2.33.1. So you need to either wait for 2.33.x to be available on Flathub or install 2.33.x desktop some other way.
I tried to open an app so I could dive into some fiction podcasts and VoiceOver jumped to 30 spaces without me touching the screen. I wish I could sue society for this kind of lackluster treatment by companies. Can lawyers and I connect? Ich habe gestern einen Gastbeitrag von Kristina Schröder auf WELT online gelesen. Darin geht es um den Sozialstaat – und um persönliche Assistenz für behinderte Menschen. Und ehrlich gesagt: Er hat mich tief getroffen.
Denn wenn über Assistenz als „nicht mehr tragbare Kosten“ gesprochen wird, dann geht es nicht abstrakt um Haushaltszahlen. Dann geht es um mein Leben.
Assistenz ist für mich kein Luxus. Kein Extra. Kein Wunschkonzert. Assistenz ist das, was mich morgens aufstehen lässt. Was mir erlaubt zu arbeiten, Verantwortung zu übernehmen, mich einzubringen, selbstbestimmt zu leben. Ohne Assistenz wäre mein Leben kleiner. Abhängiger. Fremdbestimmt. Vielleicht sogar institutionell verwahrt statt frei.
Ich brauche Assistenz 24 Stunden am Tag, weil Behinderung keinen Feierabend kennt. Weil Notfälle keine Bürozeiten haben. Weil Würde nicht um 22 Uhr endet.
Wenn Politik und Medien darüber diskutieren, ob Menschen wie ich „zu teuer“ sind, dann erzeugt das Angst. Die Angst, dass meine Freiheit an einem Verwaltungsakt hängt. Dass mein Leben jedes Jahr neu infrage gestellt wird. Dass ich mich rechtfertigen muss, warum ich so leben darf wie andere ganz selbstverständlich.
Dabei zeigt die Geschichte etwas anderes: Stephen Hawking, Helen Keller, viele andere – ihre Leistungen waren nur möglich, weil Assistenz und Unterstützung ihnen Zugang zur Welt gegeben haben. Nicht trotz Assistenz. Sondern wegen ihr.
Ja, Assistenz kostet Geld. Aber die eigentliche Frage ist: **Was kostet es uns als Gesellschaft, wenn wir anfangen, Menschenwürde zu kürzen?**
Ich bin keine Kostenstelle. Ich bin ein Mensch. Und mein Leben ist kein Sparposten.

Navigate to Settings -> Add second device. Both of your devices have to be connected to the same network while adding a new device.
On a different device just start the app. On a new account screen press Add as second device.
Also you can add multiple accounts into a single instance of the app such as your private profile and public profile, your family profile and your work profile or any other way you prefer. To add multiple accounts just press your profile picture, then press Add account.
Are you saying, a business can't make, keep, maintain a long living identity with this tech? There are many cases that need long living identity, like a bread store around the corner.
@mikalai @ClickyMcTicker what is the bread store doing with whatapp? Likely they could also use delta, and people wouldn't need to use their one and only private profiles for work chats? Anyway, it's hard to give an answer about an abstract bakery. There are certainly 20+ people orgs using it heavily but they are not bakeries.
"App is zip" is golden, cause social part is between peers, between humans, while code runs on user devices, implying total user control. This is p2p, as a reference to usage, not as reference to network topology.
