That's 9 to 10 PRs per work day.
We keep hearing how it is stupid and irresponsible to take changes from a LLM without careful review by experienced developers.
You can't speak in absolutes, but generally: 9 per day is a reckless amount of PRs for one person to submit. If a project team is actually absorbing this amount of change from each developer on the team, they are rapidly paving a road to hell for themselves and their stakeholders.
There is just no possible way that either a developer or a reviewer can do due diligence on 9 PR submissions every single day, unless they are pretty trivial changes. (In which case one must ask, is the LLM actually adding value?)
When people talk about how much they are getting done with LLM workflows, we really need to be inspecting these claims. As always: lines of code are not user or business value. What are you actually *delivering*?
The longer I think about this the more convinced I am that use of LLMs for software development is just offshoring 3.0.
Businesses are making a poorly-considered decision that if you can do things fast enough quality doesn't matter. The theory goes that you can ship crap as long as you can ship it fast, and you can ship fixes fast.
The problem is, when you ship crap, you *can't* ship fixes fast. That's literally what makes the product crap.

I still find it a bit odd that Udbhav Tiwari and Meredith Whittaker (@Mer__edith) stormed off the stage at #39C3 with ~20 minutes left in their slot without answering any questions. I always think of Chaos events as being among equals, and a Q&A after your presentation is just part of that. But I guess if you are earning close to $1 million a year, you are a bit more equal than others.

I'm also a bit surprised that some speakers travel from another continent just for their talk and skip the opportunity to at least see what is there on the congress and talk to people there. But I also don't see anything wrong with anyone leaving whenever they want without stating the reasons, on the contrary demanding that they do because they have a talk or earn more than others is treating them as not equal.
@link2xt I've seen less experienced speakers simply run out of time and I've also seen people having a bad moment due to nervousness or whatever. Both are absolutely fine and are usually (always) treated with respect.
The president of Signal is a professional who is literally paid to be there (nothing wrong with that I pay myself too for giving presentations). Maybe we can hold them to slightly higher standards?
As far as I understand both speakers are paid by Signal to represent Signal, not by CCC[V]. From CCC speakers get a ticket and access to speaker's desk room with tee and coffee, so if they make a low-quality presentation, that's Signal's problem.
I'll watch the talk recording to see if it's good or not. Have not attended any recorded talks this year, had enough unrecorded meetups, self-organized sessions and angel shifts in-between every day.

I've been in the talk and didn't have the impression that they "stormed off". Just rewatched the last minute of the talk and Meredith clearly states that she at least thinks that there is no time left for a Q&A (I don't remember if this was in fact the case). She also states that both of them would stay for the rest of the congress and that one should come around and ask them if one were interested.
I bumped into Meredith twice after the talk and did a small, unplanned talk with her once. She was very approachable. I asked a question to her and got a selfie!
@pietervdvn Congress is also much bigger than it appears, I have met some people only on the third day when both me and they have been on congress almost the whole day for two days already.
It's true, I did think we were over time, when in fact we were not over time. But we definitely didn't storm off! We stayed around by the stage for about 15 minutes talking to nice people and answering questions. Then we hung out until late, and again the next day. Hope that helps!

There's a weird trick that people on X seem to be practicing now, where, when they want to make a reply that they posted in a thread appear to all followers, not just those who follow the thread participants, they repost the post immediately preceding that reply.
Hence the questions:
1) is it allowed to boost our own replies here, and if so, will that show them to everybody, even those who normally wouldn't see the thread? What's the best way to achieve this?
2) Will this cause other instances to fetch the entire thread from the start?
@jonathan859 I've done it too, I just have no idea whether it actually works. Have you ever actually seen a boosted reply to a thread where you did not follow all the participants.

@zoufalec Já už sehnal Apple TV, jeden hodný uživatel mi ji nabídnul. Je to nejjednodušší řešení. Zapnu Apple TV, trenažer se připojí a jedu. Nic neřeším, žádné kabely, jestli mám nabitý telefon atd. Zařízení na několik let a jestli se naseru přejdu i s telefonem na iPhone 😃
@jfpavlik Klidne ti nejakej starsi posunu. Muzes vyzkouset a pak si pripadne koupit novej. On je ten jablecnej ekosystem dobrej, vtahne te rychle. A umi nasobne vic nez apple/win/linuch. Je to pohodlny a rychle se na to zvyka.
