Ich bestelle meine deutsprachigen Buecher über Geniallokal bei einer kleinen unabhängigen Buchhandlung, die mir ein Kollege empfohlen hat.

Aus Gründen, hätte ich gerne eine zweite Alternative in Ostdeutschland. Habt ihr Empfehlungen fur eure (d.h. eine, die ihr kennt und mögt - gerne erklären warum ihr die mögt!) kleine lokale Buchhandlung mit Online-Bestellmöglichkeiten, die *nicht* Vorkasse oder paypal sind? Rechnung, Lastschrifteinzug, Kreditkarte, alle gehen.

Člověk se musí umět radovat z malých radostí, přeci jenom jsme tady jen chvíli. Dneska jsem měl radost, že jsem ve vajíčku ke snídani našel dva žloutky. :flan_XD:

Jak jste na tom s vodou? U nás právě vyhlásili evakuaci Barvínkova, to je taková zahradní kolonie obklopená z obou stran řekami. Z jedné strany Otava a z druhé Volyňka a ta asi bude už brzy přetékat z koryta. Zrovna jedu kámošovi pomoct odvozit nějaké věci ze zahrady kam chodíme udit. 😥 #zasrano #velkavoda

So... people are bending over backwards to make it known that they absolutely despise a technology that spits out believable statements that may require a bit of fact-checking before taken as fact. I happen to know of a certain politician, I won't name names, that seems to be displaying a very similar way of working. Something something Springfield. Do we measure those with the same measurements? Like, say, if a country were to be considering implementing this politician in its new version do we get very angry? :) #snark

So somehow I ended up in a situation where I will soon have a full pour over set-up composed of exclusively Hario products. The only non-hario component will be my kitchen scale because there's very little point in getting a dedicated coffee scale when you really don't ever need more than 1 gram of accuracy. It's silly how quickly I went from "I just make coffee in the most convenient way to get some flavor and caffeine" to "I weigh my beans, grind them with a Skerton, put them in a V60 and pour water from a pouring kettle utilizing proper pouring techniques". To be fair this has been very fun and quite in line with everything I've been into recently so I don't think it's a bad thing, just wasn't expecting myself to dive in so deep so fast.

Just had to explain to an 84yo with congestive heart failure that "the cold that everyone has" is likely not a cold. And tell them that if they have any trouble breathing to call 911 immediately.

They all but dismissed me when I told them the covid hazard index here is 1 in 26.

I recently witnessed, through a social media platform, someone get very sick, land in an ER with pneumonia, and wonder aloud what the "bug" is that's giving so many people they know pneumonia.

I can't anymore, friends. It's impossible.

I continue to wear a mask and generally stay at home, in spite of how the isolation impacts my mental health.

I don't just do it for me (I have Epstein-Barr virus floating dormant in my bloodstream and I'm self-employed).

Wearing a mask is community care.

Staying informed is community care.

Our collective governments have failed us. So we have to do it ourselves.
