@mreichelt If you can get into them. Honestly, there have been fosdems I've gone hungry because food was unobtanium.
I won't be going this time, because I'm already to virused-up-cruddy, but my advice would be: * bring food, bring drink, * have pals you want to meet and go into brussels early after you've done the hallway track * don't try to attend any talk or dev room
Oh, and protect your shoes from projectile vomiting when going to Solbosch using public transport.
lol - I feel this will be a very different conference experience than I'm used to! I never was at FOSDEM, so this will be a first for me. I'd be happy to chat with you when we meet there!
I think one thing I like about Lofi, is that you can experiment. Plus, you donβt have to quantize. You can have slight drags on your drums, or your base. As long as itβs on the right tempo, you can mess around. Slap some vinyl preset on there, and boom.
Well, seeing as its been paid for, I can officially say that I will soon be the proud owner of a BTSpeak! So excited! Was looking forward to the upcoming tutorial/demos by @liamerven, but now that interest is more than peaked!
For FOSDEM first-timers, it's good to wear the shoes that work best for a lot of standing and walking and can handle rain and some puddles (depending on the weather). These might not be the best looking shoes you have (or they might be) it just needs to be something that once you put on you won't have to think about until you take them off, which will probably be hours and hours later. I am bringing two pairs with very different weights and support styles to switch between.
Darn, that's a lot of icons still. Despite me thinking I'd hate mac, I now only have the default apps on my dock, which kinda serves like the desktop, but mostly for stuff that's opened. Thought I'd go back to my windows habits of like, way too many icons, but nope, I guess I just stuck with the whole arrangement. Just removed a few unnecessary apps I didn't need and that was it, then kept a few I can actually open via the dock and stuck with it, so now it's that thing I am just used to. Also, nothing beats a windows refresh, to be fair. Except a super fresh windows install, to cleanup the registry only to fill it up back again. :D
Tonight...it almost didn't happen, but the Digital Domain with @nick and Bob is also known as the 'Bring on the Snow' show! How was Snowpocalypse 2026 for you?
