@Friendica Support @Libranet Support
Can I follow friends on #BlueSky from #Friendica (and specifically from Libranet)? I haven't managed so far. I tried searching for their profile URL with /rss at the end, but nothing is found. I've seen some conversations about this, but couldn't find a way to make it work.
Thanks!

The Bluesky bridge is opt-in on both sides, so
step 1, follow this account to opt-in: @bsky.brid.gy
step 2, wait for the confirmation
step 3, you can now find and follow Bluesky accounts from your fediverse account (but they will also need to have opted in) - search this phrase: "@bsky.brid.gy" and you'll find profiles that are Bluesky accounts to follow. You can also browse brid.gy/users

I'm just passing info on. not my bridge. I'm not even on bluesky. don't care for it. fediverse is about helping, sharing, etc

Only public ones, right?
...
Right? :)

Sorry, this isn't helping me. I can't follow @bsky.brid.gy because I can't find it. I search for it and nothing is found. I'm not on bluesky, I have friends who are.
I've managed to find one friend by adding /rss to her profile. I can see her posts, but I can't like or comment. I can only see the photos and comments if I go to the link.

If you do not want to use the privacy-friendly solution in Friendica, you can use
@bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy
.However, this solution requires that both (the Bluesky account you want to follow and yourself) must follow the intermediary.

What you posted above requires a bluesky account, if I understand correctly.

That is correct. You do have an account with Bluesky. However, Bluesky only sees the Friendica instance and your public posts as soon as you use the Friendica Connector.
Bluesky does not see your IP address, whether you have logged in with a mobile phone or a browser, which operating system you are using and other things that are of interest to companies. Friendica therefore protects you if someone on the other side is interested in your metadata.
With the bridge, you always have another partner on board that you have to trust. This is not the case with the solution via your instance.
