Last year, I switched back to #Firefox as the main browser on my #Android mobile phone. With the latest questionable decisions by #Mozilla about working on ad-tech and enabling product telemetry in Thunderbird for Android without asking its users, I'm wondering what browser to look into next?
Vivaldi seems to be mentioned a lot, so that's going to be the first browser I look into. What else are people here using (and happy with😉)?

Not sure why anyone thinks #Vivaldi is better than Mozilla. Guess they have a pretty active fan club on the Fediverse.

Vivaldi is built on Chromium and free-rides off of the tracking that Google and other vendors who develop the core code in Vivaldi do. The same can be said of other vendors of course.

Worse yet, the browser isn't open source, so they aren't even as giving as Mozilla is.

Their translation service is in the cloud (Mozilla's isn't and open source).

@yoasif All fair points. At this point, I frankly speaking don't think there's an actually good browser choice (as Firefox used to be in the past) but simply different tradeoffs you have to consider. Hence, why I'm curious about what decisions others are making and so your reply is much appreciated. 😊

@julienw @yoasif I have no interest in one day waking up and realizing that my supposedly privacy friendly browser has opted me into an ad tech experiment (which is what you get when you combine the two recent questionable Mozilla decisions I referenced).
