We last updated ours in 2022. We are working on a 2025 version of the NVDA Certified Expert exam.

And for anyone finding this not familiar with the NVDA Certified Expert program, it's an online exam which is free for anyone to sit to test your knowledge: certification.nvaccess.org/

You can purchase a certificate and listing on our page once you pass if you wish.

@NVAccess Great. Thanks for this helpful information. So how old is the certification before it is reasonably considered no longer current, relevant, etc? Would you recommend I go for the 2022 exam now or just wait until next year?

Good question and it might depend on what you are using the certification for - if just for your own knowledge, probably once each version of the exam is fine. If your employer wants it as part of your PD, then it might depend on their requirements. And of course for your own knowledge, you can always DO the exam, and purchase once each version or when you can afford / want to?

@NVAccess Right now I primarily care about it as a resume bullet if I wind up needing to find a new job. That's why I'm trying to understand how long someone is considered officially certified before they need to retake the test. Also, is NV Access considering any sort of certification maintenance program short of just retaking the entire exam?

So far what we have done is updated the exam every few years - and we give people a 50% discount for purchasing the later version of the exam. But we're always open to feedback on if people think it would work better another way.
