I've seen lots of solar water heaters on roofs in #Greece, but very few #photovoltaic panels. The country must have many more sunny days than we do. Why is that? Is it because the price of the electricity from the grid is too low or because there is a lack of incentives from the government?

China installs more solar in 1 month than the total energy the US uses

China installed its highest solar power capacity for a single month in May.

back-of-the-envelope calculations, 71 GW is more power than the entire US uses (on average). This is why our electricity is, on average, 2.5-3 times more expensive. This will lead to advantages in AI, production, etc. Cheap energy = cheap everything else.

China's clean energy revolution is a significant step towards a sustainable future. The scale and pace of this transition could set a precedent for other nations and significantly influence the global trajectory towards clean, renewable energy. While challenges remain, the sheer ambition of this initiative demonstrates that large-scale renewable energy adoption is achievable.
