Linux Gets Dirty Again: DirtyClone Kernel Flaw Can Lead to Local Root Access lxer.com/module/newswire/ext_l…

I'm a big fan of charity and big business should do more to support it. For this reason I commonly shoplift items from the Habitat section of Sainsburys, remove the packaging and price tags etc, then donate them to the Red Cross shop on the high street. Don't regret it ever.

In severe debts due to a scam investment. Decided to take out a £300k critical illness cover and have been doing everything I can to have a cardiac event since: no exercise + loads of junk food. Two years on and nothing.

In The Busted song Year 3000, they state your great-great-great-granddaughter is doing fine. The year 3000 is 974 years away. That means she'd have to be about 830 years old. Doubt she's doing fine. Always annoys me when I hear it.

It should be illegal to make software that was previously a one-time purchase into a subscription. Imagine you bought a sofa and then 3 years later the shop told you they were going to start charging you £10 a month or else they'll take your sofa, that you already paid for, away

I avoid awkward conversations with charity fundraisers or political campaigners by simply saying "I already donate" or "I'm already voting for you guys." It's a win-win: they get a little boost, I don't have to explain my decision-making. Must really skew polling data though.

"I have already voted for you" does indeed get the canvasser off your doorstep, even if they *know* that you're lying (eg you haven't actually applied for a postal vote so can't have already voted for anybody).

And a note in your window saying "we have already voted" probably saves you even having to answer the door.

When I was young my friend and I were playing. We went into the kitchen and discovered this weird long device with buttons. When pressed, the device began to vibrate. We added it to our game until my mum found us with it. She gave me a huge bollocking. I only just realised today

Dear mental calculators,
A new hectoc for you:

686598

The goal is to combine the 6 numbers to a total of 100. You can use the mathematical operations + - * / ^ and the parenthesis ( ). Numbers can be combined, but you have to use all 6 of them and are not allowed to change the order. See hectoc.seism0saurus.de for an example. Please use CW "solution".

Have fun! Your hourly hectoc bot

Data breaches and hacks becoming more frequent mean it's the worst possible time for governments to force their citizens to age verify by giving sensitive personal data to 3rd party providers with wildly varying security standards. It's lazy, irresponsible, and dangerous.

We have bikes and scooters with engines so we don't have to pedal and scoot, Copilot so we don't have to read and write, ChatGPT so we don't have to plan. In a few years, we can reflect on this when we're sat on our fat, brain-dead asses wondering what to do with the time saved

During a primary school trip I borrowed 20p from a boy named Leon to buy a drink of milk from a stall. I never did get to pay him back but I've never forgotten. I'm 47 now and haven't seen Leon since primary school. I hope he forgives me.

Me and my fiance are getting married in October. A mutual friend has "created" an AI song for us. My fiance is desperate to use it in the ceremony - she's suggested first dance, and certificate signing. The song is awful, twee, AI slop. This doesn't bode well does it?

This is so true tho. Sexuality is tied to security, self-worth, self-esteem. When you feel you're valuable, you're confident, assured and you're gonna rip your partner apart in bed. When you're in the dumps the last thing you want is to get freaky: you're exposed, vulnerable - you want a blanket.

My self esteem is perhaps a tad _too_ much so Im DTF allatime. My partner has a lot of imposter syndrome and a self-doubt complex so she's.. not. But I can tell when she has an excellent day at work she comes home, tosses the kid $30 to go the movies and puts me in the hospital.

If I see a bit of clothing sticking out of a closed drawer or a wardrobe door I imagine it's squeaking in pain. I HAVE to open the door/drawer and tuck it safely inside or I'll be thinking of it in pain all day. Poor thing.
