Saturday. And bump. Back down to earth. Back to reality. Rhodes was spectacular. The people were friendly, there was lots of good food and drink, and the itinerary we'd planned out meant every day had something to offer. Night time temperatures never fell below 20, but our room's air conditioning meant comfortable sleep. The pool at our villa was crystal clear and pleasantly warm to swim in, we had a taxi rank just outside our door, and every day had a new adventure. Even when the kids were on the slides at the waterpark, I got to lounge in the sun and read.
The highlight of the week has to be feeding and playing with a family of Lemurs at the local farm park. One of them was only a week or so old, I never knew just how dexterous their hands were, nor how fast or high they could rocket from a standing position. Incredibly well looked after, they are amazing creatures. TO get to feed them was so special, I had 1 on my head, a second on my shoulder and a third sitting on my lap at one point.
The rest of the week was about enjoying the Greek food, touring the island of Rhodes, cruising in the beautiful Aegean, taking the kids shopping and for watersports and generally enjoying a week of warm sunshine and absolutely no work. Bliss!
I'm so glad you had such a great time. I got to feed lemurs too once, probably one of the most amazing experiences I ever got to have. I had them on my shoulders, my head, adn sitting on the table next to me. I couldn't believe their little hands, nor how soft the fur was.
@gtbray Max Headroom was an amazing series. It was incredibly unique. I found it a few years ago on iTunes and grabbed it. I recorded some of the episodes on a 4-track tape recorder when they originally aired and so it's nice to have them with better audio quality.
@gtbray Oh, Max Headroom absolutely could benefit from audio description. I don't see it happening unless one of the major streaming services decided to pick it up and was feeling generous. Babylon 5 is another show that I wished Max would have given the AD treatment.
So just a heads up for people who aren’t queer, this Pride eve; Pride is around the corner and it’s probably going to feel a little different than usual.

• Let’s not do the “Pride events need to be family friendly”. They generally are, but our family is angry.

Since the old bill died with the last government I see they haven’t wasted any time tabling a new one again to age restrict “pronographic” content in the name of protecting children.
This one just had its first reading in the senate. Please contact your MPs to try and get this one stopped early this time.

Not only are there privacy and security concerns with uploading your data to a third party to verify your age, but this further pushes the nonsense that anyone using the web should use their “real identity” and that we must censor parts of the web ”we don’t like” in the name of protecting children from the horrors of ~ gasp ~ sex.

@sesivany V okamžiku, kdy peněženku spojíš se jménem, třeba při objednávce na Alze, tak se Alze otevře celá tvoje transakční historie. Anonymní je jen v případě, že bitcoiny těžíš a nikdy neutratíš.
jo, ale ta identifikace musí přijít z vně blockchainu. Pak je to v kombinaci s tou naprostou transparentností pro policii úplný ráj. Ale takhle to dělá jen amatér. Profesionál to na nějaké burze v daňovém ráji propere přes Monero. Na ministerstvu ale byli očividně amatéři. 🙂
je to ode mě takové hnidopišství. S tím sdělením jinak souhlasím. Veřejnosti se prodalo, že jsou tam transakce anonymní a nesledovatelné, a (nejen) tahle aféra je výsledkem.
