Should you have noticed a short "absence" of the #IzzyOnDroid primary web server, that was probably the reboot…

A CVE was published to oss-sec 5 days ago and got its fixes available today (https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2024-2961), so it was applied immediately as the vuln would have affected some components here.

My thanks here once more goes to @obfusk for bringing it to my attention – and to my service provider who swiftly applied the updates within just minutes 🤩

#AndroidAppRain at https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid today brings you 11 updated apps. No added apps, no security patches today 😜 But those having installed the app

"Android Owner"

are advised for special care: it has been rebranded and got a new package name, so please switch over to

OwnDroid

And enjoy your #free #Android #apps with the #IzzyOnDroid #IzzySoftRepo :awesome:

#AndroidAppRain at https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid today brings you 15 updated & 0 added apps. Still this toot, as 3 of the updated apps had to change their signing keys; if you have installed one of them you'll need to uninstall & reinstall to receive updates:

* JRPN 15C
* JRPN 16C
* Tabs Lite

Key change was of course properly verified with their authors help.

At https://apt.izzysoft.de/magisk 1 #Magisk #module has been updated.

With Pessach cleanup you figure why the ingredients are listed on stuff. Because they MUST BE, not because they WANT TO.

*sigh* (gets the magnifier glas)

With #IzzyOnDroid that's the other way around. There they are listed for #transparency (see the library section for each APK at https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid). Unfortunately, no way (yet) to transport that to the Android clients…

Another #security patch has been applied at the #IzzyOnDroid #IzzySoftRepo to protect against what is described at https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2024/04/20/3

Though a full scan of the repo hasn't brought up a single affected APK, that doesn't mean any such cannot show up later – so better safe than sorry, right?

#AndroidAppRain at https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid today with 12 updated and 2 added apps:

* USBDongleControl: control USB audio dongles
* reciper: Simple, Open Source Recipe Management App

https://apt.izzysoft.de/magisk had 1 #Magisk #module updated.

The #IzzySoftRepo (better known as #IzzyOnDroid – so I'll probably use that hashtag in the future) is used from all over the world, as this graph from GoAccess web statistics shows. Almost no country where it's not in use. I could only spot 3 small gray areas where no requests originated from.

I'm glad being able to help people from all over the world to get their #free and #OpenSource #Android #apps – and hope you enjoy them, too! :awesome:

That said, my thanks also goes to @obfusk who helps me a lot making #IzzyOnDroid safer. She caught several places in need of improvements, providing patches for some of them and giving advice (and proof-reading) for those I established myself. Some of the scripts used in that area also come from her.

So when thanking me for the repo, please everyone include Sylvia and her as well. Without them it wouldn't be the place it currently is! 😍

Hugs to both of you from me 🤗

Thank you for supporting it 😍

For those who don't know: it's Sylvia who a.o. provides the #IzzyOnDroid monitor at her own cost: https://monitor.izzysoft.de/status/izzyondroid This gives me "early warnings" (via @ntfy and @unifiedpush) should some service be down, so I can give it some hugs to make it feel better. So far there were only two such alerts, one for testing if it works and the other as a planned restart took a few seconds longer than planned. But good to be backed! :awesome:

Catima 2.29.0 is out!

This release adds support for finding barcodes in PDF files[1] and dealing with multiple barcodes. It also properly colours the status bar during usage now.

As always, it's available on #GitHub, will soon be available on #IzzyOnDroid and will slowly roll out to other app stores.

https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/releases/tag/v2.29.0

[1] Not sandboxed yet, help welcome in https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/issues/1804

#Catima #OpenSource #Android

I'm very happy to see how far the #IzzyOnDroid repository has come. Especially with all the recent scanner updates it has become so much more than "a secondary repo to get more FOSS app from".

I'd argue at this point it may very well be the most secure and well-maintained repository of #FOSS apps on #Android.

#Catima 2.27.0 is out!

Honestly a fairly small release, mostly small UI tweaks and a minor bugfix. But that's fine, it's great when software updates are boring without major changes so there is nothing new to learn :)

Available on #GitHub right now, on #IzzyOnDroid within 24 hours and on other stores when they update (see the FAQ on https://catima.app for details).

Hope y'all enjoy it :)
