I was not aware GNOME supported desktop widgets. I'll need to try that out.
Or is that simply an ordinary application? If so, is it possible to set it to not just open automatically, but also always be in the same location?

I could implement start on boot using the background portal.

But i think we need something a bit more powerful like gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg…

Ok, makes sense. I just misunderstood the term "widget" in the original post. Really cool looking clock application, though!
