So, my first #
# # poll has ended. the results are here: https://mastodon.social/@Unatributed/108450137107624580

Unfortunately not a lot of respondents, but the ~60/40 split was enough to get me to install vivaldi.

Unfortuantely I won't be sticking with it. Why? My main reason for installing it was the new mail client, which reminded me of the old # and # browsers. Alas, the mail client doesn't work the way I need it to, and there are lots of forum posts about problems with it...

And, just a little bit later, back in # and # I've managed to:

1. Quickly get my email down to under 20 messages in my inbox.

2. Find a tab manager that actually makes more sense than # aldi

Well, the whole Thunderbird vs other mail clients thing is how it handles archiving mail. I have ~20K archive messages, sorted by year. 2022 there are ~4500 alone. With that many messages putting them into yearly folders is necessary - something that some mail clients fail at.

As for the tab manager: Simple Tab Groups. I use it with Multi-account containers to cut down the tracking, while logically grouping things according to work needs.
