Sounds neat! I know that Android with the K-9 base is the focus for now, but are there any updates about the planned Thunderbird for iOS? If I remember correctly, there was hope for an alpha version by the end of this year.

Yes (connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/t…). It’s in the works but I could not find any recent updates on that.

Hey, Thunderbird Product Manager here! We are beginning to work on an iOS version of Thunderbird this upcoming year (2023). I can't say when it will be ready to be released exactly.

@TuxOnBike @romadiz We are still planning to release an iOS app, and the current plan is to begin work next year. Thanks for being patient while we got the Android release delivered!

Awesome, thanks! I am very grateful for all your work. I am using Thunderbird on GNU+Linux (and I used it before on macOS and Windows). I can’t wait for us all to have the best email client on all platforms.

I have been using #K9 for a while now through #FDroid. Will K9 update/merge into #Thunderbird? Or should I uninstall K9 then install Thunderbird?

@Dustwin They're separate apps. You can import account settings data into Thunderbird from K-9 Mail so don't delete K-9 Mail until you've had the chance to do that!
