You can display actual #bitmap #images on the actual #console in selected #terminal emulators.
Terminals which support this include #MLTerm, #FootTerminal and #XTerm (after configuration). Support in #GnomeTerminal and other #VTE-based terminals is underway.

Tip: if youโre using the new GNOME Console and Fish shell, you donโt have to wait until the GNOME folks have colour schemes implemented if you want to customise yours.
fisher install FabioAntunes/base16-fish-shell
Then, in your console, type base16<tab> to see the list of different colour schemes you can try.
