Estaría chulo poder enviar alt de imágenes realizadas por terceros. Si a alguien no le gusta un alt o le parece pobre ... podría escribir uno y darle a mandar solicitud.

A la persona le llega ese alt y puede validarlo si quiere.

Folks, I want to boost your lovely posts, I really do but I won’t if you don’t write image descriptions (alt text) so people who use screen readers can also experience them.

It doesn’t take long to write one.

And if you’re posting an image of text and you have an iPhone, you can select the text from the image with a long press and copy/paste it.

Even Linux has apps that do this (like Frog: https://tenderowl.com/work/frog/)

#OpenAccess journals, please take heed.

New study: "Using a random sample of 300 English language open access journals, we assessed author guidelines to understand image requirements for submissions…We found that most open access journals do not include disability accessibility elements in their guidelines…While over half the journals had required parameters for image submission, none of them required alt text."

Appeareance of images attached to a post

Hello @Friendica Developers @Friendica Support @https://friendica-dev.mbbit.de/profile/friendicadev Hello dear community, I would like to discuss with you about the appearance of posts with multiple images on #Friedica. Here is my opinion:
The current way multiple #images are displayed is awful:

Yeah, you saw it by my embedded examples your self. What bothers me most is:

  • It just looks messy (especially when there is a mix of landscape and portrait format)
  • Besides the aesthetics, multiple images take a lot of room (when you do not use an add-on like show more)

My suggestion on which I would love to hear your opinion is to use a grid format like on #mastodon:

I would pitch a suggestion by adding a PR for a (from my point of view) "better" appearance based to this
tutorial. I do not like to use JS in general and would leave it out by determine the suited amount of columns in the backend.

But before I invest time on that, I want to hear your feedback. Thank You!

SVG images aren’t just images, they’re documents and it’s not safe to serve random people’s svg images on your website.

Here’s a tool that fixes it, and sanitizes #SVG #images to make them as innocent as a JPEG:

(In #Rustlang, of course)

👉 Did you know: You can display actual # # on the actual # in selected terminal emulators.

# supports this, but it needs a little nudging to enable:

> xterm -rv -ti vt340

Observe:

👉 Did you know?

You can display actual # # on the actual # in selected # emulators.

Terminals which support this include #, # and # (after configuration). Support in # and other #-based terminals is underway.
