I got a bunch of battery-powered Zigbee-connected IR receivers/senders October last year, which were just sitting idly on my desk. This evening, I powered one up and learned it the IR commands to turn on/off my soundbar and my TV. Now I can automate my home a tiny bit more, basically binding my soundbar state to my TV state all the time and dropping the requirement of one additional remote. One step closer to making my Unfolded Circle Remote 3 my only remote of the house.

One of my discord community members put me down to t2bot.io and I’m looking at adding it to my Matrix and Discord server in the near future. Thanks @travisr I’ll see about diverting some of my BTC tips your way once I get this hooked up. You don’t happen to take XMR too do you?

I will worship the person or people who would do the following two things. thing 1: finally make hearthstone playable for the IPhone. Sometimes I have an urge for some battlegrounds and I'm not near my pc. Unity, maybe? thing 2: make a utility that will update or install stardew valley mods for you. I don't know, make a list of the most used ones or something and find a way to pull updates or fresh installs? Don't ask me, I'm just the one with the ideas.

"#ICE does not move like the gestapo, they move like slave patrols."

This is home grown terrorism..

I can't unsee this now. I can't unsee slaver behavior in #ICE tactics. It makes way more sense, the Gestapo were copying *them*.

Do you use D&D Beyond for your sessions and you hate how clunky and slow you would be with it with a screen reader? I've got something for you! I've started work on a browser extension called Enhance Ability (pun absolutely intended!) It does a lot to make the site more intuitive and bring your speed on par with a sited user who can just glance at information. Read the readme below here for a preliminary feature list. I've sent it for review on the firefox and chrome add-on stores, and I'll publish links whenever they're available. I'm happy to discuss or answer any questions here! If you like to sideload it or look at the code, or read for more information, visit on github! github.com/the-byte-bender/enh…

Got ripped off on an online purchase over the holidays for about $44.00
Sent dispute to bank/visa.

Bank disputes my dispute and rejects. Just got off the phone to learn the person who reviewed my dispute lied about the answers I provided in their dispute form as cause to reject the dispute.

Now, they've breached the state consumer protection act.

They're under threat of litigation if they don't return the money, which, is no idle threat.

Why would I go to these lengths over $44.00?

Because I'm SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of living in a #corporate dystopia and will drag the money out of them NO MATTER WHAT!!! Have fun paying your attorney's thousands of dollars over a $44.00 dispute because your corporate policy is to screw over your own clients to enrich your shareholders.

Good morning 😘

For #RRS on #Android I just switched from Readrops to #CapyReader. It both is able to sync with #FreshRSS server, but Capy's UI better suits my needs.

Reeddrops looks fine, but it feels kind of wrong when using it. Especially in article listings. It seems like they use wrong UI components for the task.

Capy's UI feels less cluttered, more text focused. I better orient in the article titles. So far good work @_jocmp 👍️

You know, I keep hearing people say that it takes a certain kind of person to learn to code, and I just can’t accept that in my reality. I believe that anyone can learn how to code. It just involves finding out how coding can work for the problems you are trying to solve, or how you want to create something from nothing. It will even make you a better vibe coder.

@MikeGorse we have two printers that are, by accident, multi-function, and, not by accident, two-sided printers. An old HP Laserjet 1536dnf MDF, black and white. Super reliable. Complains about refilled toner cartridges but they work. Clean the rollers half-assedly every 5 years and it keeps chugging.

Also, an HP color inkjet with refillable tanks, from a year or two ago, a total unreliable piece of shit that prints nicely. Needs Bluetooth to configure because it has no screen. Plate tray.

@MikeGorse The inkjet that is only configurable via Bluetooth (or the web interface once you manage to tell it the wifi password via Bluetooth and the stupid HP phone app) forgets its IP address every few months. I've put some instructions on our home web server for how to make it work in case I'm travelling or something and Homework Needs To Be Printed(tm).

The FreeBSD Foundation announced they're funding development of a new agentic AI based on an Alibaba model which will run in your kernel called Kirk.

There will be no way to remove it from the OS beginning with FreeBSD 16.0, because this model is completely replacing the TCP/IP stack and the CPU scheduler. All of these decisions will now processed by Kirk. Instead of being based on the time-tested monolithic kernel design, this will be the beginning of a new era of hybrid-cystolithic kernels.
