Anyone else struggling with there #Apple#Watch where it keeps crashing pretty often when even using something as simple as the settings app? Its really annoying and now I can really only use my watch as an elaborate timepiece because it won't work even after I turned off Background App Refresh, turned off the add music automatically thing, and even deleted all the apps I don't use. Any help would be appreciated, already submitted feedback to apple. This is for an Apple Wwatch Series 10 running the latest stable OS and not the beta as of now.

@Mike Gorse Ah yes this has not occured to me when boosting their post that links to a blog article about amazon kindle books obfuscation. Looking at the account it's apparently someone sighted with no relation to blindness and acb might be an accronim of their nickname. They are more than three years on fedi already and more than 800 people are following them so it looks like a coincidence their name is clashing with the abc acb now better. It looks legit to me.

For awhile I really tried to convince myself I was just having the chills and throwing up over a lack of sleep. That and anticipation at training our new hire, finally I'm not the only engineer onthe team, hurray. Yet no. I'm still cold sensitive, still get pings of nauzea, my forehead is less warm but my nose has started to run. No matter how much convincing I try to do I'm less and less convinced.

@dotsonapage I'm in a pretty noisy place, too. That's why I got the MLA30 active loop antenna. Those are great in compromised urban situations. I didn't look to see if that radio you guys are talking about does single side band, but that would be a must for me.
@BorrisInABox Not sure. I know there's seven other bands you can explore other than AM and FM so maybe that's one of them? thanks for the antenna rec, will look into that.
@dotsonapage SSB isn't a band. It's a modulation type.
Your traditional broadcast stations on Shortwave will use AM (amplitude modulation) where amateur radio and the occasional pirate will use either upper or lower sideband on the same band of frequencies. Sideband has no carrier. If you try to tune in a sideband signal on AM, it will sound really odd.

@bmoore123 Wow, okay. Well, here's a good tip. Before you start trying to charge it, Open the battery compartment, take out the battery and remove its plastic covering. It facilitates charging. Lol! I like that it's USBC and has an SD card slot.
I have an am fm radio like that already which has a SD card slot and a USB port for a drive but another one will be cool and it has short wave. not sure whats still on there but will be fun to play with anyway. If I hate it, can always return it but I will like keep it. Also, there was a 5 buck off coupon.

@bmoore123 @BorrisInABox They're actually pretty straight-forward. To the right of the screen, top button is power. Under that is the AM, FM, Shortwave. Under that, round button, memory button I think, then volume rocker. Buttons found at the Bottom of the screen is buttons numbered 1 to 5, under that 6 to 9, then 0. Last row at the bottom, scan left, mute, scan right, Then 2 buttons, which may be mode and record./ Haven't figured those one out yet. This one doesn't have bluetooth, but it does have auxiliary jack, found below the headphone jack.
@bmoore123 @BorrisInABox Yeah, I'm really liking it. So a bit more pointers. Buttons on the right side from top to bottom, almost. Power button, SD card button, AM/FM button toggle and then the Shortwave button that let's you cycle through 9 different bands. On the bottom, right of the scan right button is the record button. Hold down to record whatever you want and press again to stop. It['ll start playing the recording right away. Oh, that's if you have an SD card inserted. Lol!
@bmoore123 @technolass @BorrisInABox There's an updated version that has bluetooth on it and you can also connect it to your PC to send or retreive the files off of the SD card.
My Tecsun PL-990X does that. It's a reasonable generic speaker/line out when you need one of those. It can't record to the SD card, only play back from it. It's ALC is kind of nasty, too. I don't like how long the attack is.

I think we can only hope something like GrapheneOS can fill the void for us. I don't see a future where a new mobile OS steps in and takes over. It's too late for that. It would have been possible earlier in the mobile OS wars, but the competitors folded quickly.
Perhaps SailfishOS can pick up steam?
Either way, what matters most is if it can run apps people want to run. A non-Apple device will never really be able to run the iOS apps, but Sailfish and others which are Linux based can indeed preserve the ability to run Android apps. So perhaps that will be what happens.
Picked up a Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard this time. My Logitech after about 9 months, the keys began to pop off of it randomly, even just slightly flopping it down on carpet would make a key or two fly out. I got really tired of Logitech then, and I already had the Corsair K65 (which is wired), so figured, gosh, why not try them for wireless. So far so good! I also like how this keyboard has a volume wheel on the right side.
The RAM in this machine is Corsair because I knew they are a trusted brand for RAM, but had no idea they made keyboards, too! Very interested as I had to retire my MXKeys and am stuck using this wired keyboard I don't really like, but the amount of choice is overwhelming!

Whenever I see "GenAI basically can do the work of a junior dev", I assume that those people are using junior devs very differently from me. To me, the value of a junior developer is maybe like 20% the code they write, and 80% is a down payment to a future where they no longer are a junior. I still haven't found an AI that could do that second part.
You didn't really think the business value of that PR that had more comments than lines of code that all of us have written at some point in our career (if you haven't, I'm sorry, your onboarding mentor sucked, they were supposed to point out all the stuff you had to learn the hard way) was in getting it merged eventually, right? The value was the PR after that, that had a lot less comments. And the PR after that one, etc.

This thing BLEW MY MIND. Not only is that song a complete banger, the MIDI player would show every track in real-time using visual effects as it played.
Would anyone have stumbled on that same piece of software? I’d love to relive that moment.
