We're tracking this on our issue at github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issue… and there is a linked Microsoft Feedback issue there too as well as various comments on it. It looks like there might be a Windows update coming which may address this.

Re: My last post about telepathy, I think the best book that's probably going to be very hard to top that deals with telepathy and being an empath is Joan D. Vinge's Cat series. It describes all the pain that such powers bring, as well as the joys when you find someone who understands you deeper than anyone else and welcomes you. It's really nothing special when it comes to the plot, but it's a masterpiece in my eyes.
Too bad it's not finished, apparently because of Vinge's accident, but it's absolutely worth reading either way.

A few hours ago I wanted to post about how the imagination of science fiction authors shifted, because we have a longer life expectancy now and a host of things that we really did not have in the 1800s for example. Why that particular century? Because I've watched a video about artists in teh 1800s predicting the future in 2000.
Suppose everyone will be able to feel the emotions of all living things, you can communicate telepathically, even accross long distances. Would these abilities make you a better human? For example by knowing that other people might find out your deepest thoughts, feelings, etc. Would you care, for your own sake?

@matt SayTheSpire is a mod for Slay The Spire, which itself is written in Java 8, so is SayTheSpire and all the other mods that exist for this highly enjoyable roguelike. I don't think it uses a dedicated game engine, when modding the source, it looks like its basically doing everything on its own, from drawing graphics to... well, everything.

rád bych, ale arch podpora aarch64 je, když budu velmi hodný, tak mizerná. Když budu upřímný tak nulová. Installer nic, stáhni si komunitní tar.gz root file systému a pak se trap. Žádná snaha o alespoň nějaký uefi build. Takže v reálu LFS - Linux From Scratch je mnohem více friendly v tomto případě.

There is this tendency on the left especially, to emphasise that they want to build inclusive spaces, inclusive for BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities in particular. Somehow, disability never gets a mention. Seems like inclusiveness has an upper limit, and we're not sufficiently disadvantaged in their minds to be a part of that inclusion.
As far as I've ever seen, the problem has been awareness, not willingness; that is, I haven't seen anyone explicitly decide that we're not sufficiently disadvantaged.
Has been said already, still: including communities of persons with disabilities requires concrete technical work which is where the cost and effort discussions come from. It's not just a matter of changing attitude and behavior patterns but introducing tangible infrastructure that works which in long term turns out to be a process. I'm assisting in making a space accessible to the blind and it's a lot of work of figuring out what works, what actually helps and yet is cost-effective for a small NGO, how to make it not conflict with other priorities, how to teach people not to disrupt what already has been introduced etc. Not even going into replacing software that everyone has been feeling comfortable using for a decade or more. This is not a justification, by the way, I see the aspect missing in a lot of inclusive policies, being radical on subjects like climate change but telling me that we can't force anybody to provide image descriptions etc. There's work for everyone to do.
@Piciok Companies want to do the least they can to make more people happy. That works with other minority groups but every person with a disability is likely to need different requirements that means a lot more effort which is why we as a group will continue to be overlooked. You can see companies starting for example to focus in on people who are nuro diverse because the perceived barrier to make a difference is lower.
A guide to implementing a mailing list off-topic tagging policy for moderators:
Step 1: ask your mailing list/group members to use the #OT hashtag on off-topic posts.
Step 2: watch as your mailing list/group members find increasingly inventive ways to type it: with dots, without dots, with and without spaces, in upper, lower and mixed case, with and without the hash symbol...
Step 3: realise that the only consistent guarantee is that it won't be used on off-topic posts, and give up.
@miki Step 5: have people use it inefficiently anyway, with a single on-topic question in the right place descending into a 700-post debate about whether we should really eat breakfast and what the best case for a Samsung Galaxy Flip Pro 7 is.
It's a lot easier to moderate if you can actualy move / edit / delete posts, and have those changes seen by the majority of users. With mailing lists, once a post is out there, there's nothing you can do about it.

As for the conf.d issue, this is likely a change on the Jitsi side, if you kept the existing Prosody config when upgrading (which is what we always recommend).
I run Linux Mint 21, kernel: Linux 5.15.0-160-generic.
My /home is located on a magnetic hdd (not ssd), whilst the system partition is on an ssd. I have the issue that the main thread is frequently getting blocked for approx. 20-40 seconds by some hdd access.
I can exclude ram issues (have 32 GB), swap (disabled) and common apps, as this also occurs seemingly random with almost everything closed.
The only thing I can observe is that this seems to happen more likely the longer the machine is powered on.
I suspect some stupid (indexing?) service running. Any guess how best to find and fix the cause?
I am not a beginner, but also not a system pro. Where best to look, and how?
I didn't dig into whether its a HDD, but "the longer the machine runs", the more likely Cinnamon needs a kick. As restarting it from the GUI itself too often locked my machine entirely, I meanwhile do that via SSH remotely, just executing `pkill -HUP -f "cinnamon --replace"`. Might be worth a try (especially when Cinnamon already hogs more RAM than it should).
@Bri These things have batteries in them, though. Why they didn't bother just removing them first is a mystery, especially since whoever did it will probably have to pay the complex as it's the latter's property.
