Yes! @pancake has just shipped massive screen reader #accessibility related improvements for Native multiplatform @Delta Chat client build with @GNOME technologies called #parla in v0.8.8.
- Message list can be navigated with the keyboard with all the message details being reported with a screen reader. It's popup menu is now reachable with the keyboard too.
- Conversation list in the sidebar is now more pleasant to use with a screen reader running.
- Message typing is no longer interrupted by announcements of conversation list updating.
- Windows and Mac OS binaries include #accesskit, backent for #GTK accessibility so this might be one of the pioneer apps where GTK windows accessibility might be tested easily by the end users. CC @Matt Campbell
- If you are screen reader user and you were looking for an accessible app besides electron based deltachat-desktop, I am now considering parla to be more than viable choice.
Keep on chatting!

in reply to Sean Randall • •@Sean Randall I've started a chat with you to test it more.
Also a few months ago, I have created a screen reader users chat on deltachat. There are very few people joined, so it's mostly quiet there but still if you or anyone else would like to join, you are welcome, here is the link:
