Huh, I can just upload music here. Music fans of Mastodon, I've been trying to find the name of this song and who sings it for the last 10-plus years. I found it on a burned CD randomly in High School, and that is all I got.

Sometimes I find it very hard to know how to look for/describe #GNOME bugs. I could use some help with this one. It's a bug in #libadwaita as I can trigger it both in GNOME Files and GNOME Settings. I just have no clue how to describe it. I think searching on "dialog" might be too narrow of a search, and I also don't know what to give as extra info (platform, version...). I can't seem to find it in the gitlab repo, which surprises me as it's such a major regression...

To be frank, Rust is perfectly fine; the underlying GObject types are reference counted, so it's fairly rare to have to care about their memory management. As for the rest of the Rust types, you have to care about ownership, not memory.
@ebassi When I complain about Rust, I don't complain about the bindings, but instead about the language in general: you either wrap everything in Boxes and Vecs, or risk ending up with a reference hell where you have to tread carefully.

It's so damn fast! I was originally going to buy an M2 max MacBook Pro, but then I saw the price for my preferred configuration and thought ok no, my m1 is still working just fine. But my desktop died at that exact moment. I knew what I had to do.

Oh. I wish we had access to the offset table somehow. From what I can hear, at least some phonemes appear in the file multiple times, but they’re so short that it’s really hard to figure anything out if you don’t have the timestamps

But a developer taking the "don't roll your own crypto" advice seriously should surely conclude that they should only use the highest-level crypto facilities. In this case, for streams of data in motion, that would mean TLS.
