We are going to see a bunch of people saying "zomg DMs should be encrypted, Mastodon bad". Maybe they should be, but it's also pretty disingenuous to say that users were relying on the security of DMs when there's a big ol banner that says "DMs may not be private" on most implementations whenever you try to send a DM.

So I wrote a proof-of-concept debugger for Rust futures/async at-rest (i.e. when they're not running). It can display task "await-traces" in my async OS, lilos. You can awkwardly access locals if you know where to look. As far as I know this is a first? If not, at least first-dozen!
Also extracted a popular section of the lilos intro guide into its own post, suggesting a reframing of how you think about Rust async/await.
