Hi! Are you familiar with the 11 labs reader? I'd like to know if there is a way I can import my library into it so I can read the books I want to read instead of just the books that keep popping up. I don't see any buttons that will let me add my own personal material. Is that even a thing we can do?
@EJGilbert Hi, Leianora. Yes, you can import your own files into the ElevenLabs reader, although it supports very few file types. On the main screen of the app, you should find an Add button which VoiceOver reads as a'import button, image, possibly Add." . Once you activate this button, at the bottom of the screen you should see the following choices, Write Text, Paste Link, Import File and Scan. Choose Import File. You should then be in a file browser where you can select available locations, such as OneDrive, iCloud Drive, etc. Essentially, I believe it's the UI of the Files app. For best results, I recommend importing plain text files.
I see welcome back on my screen and then it says jump back into your recents Then it starts listing things like Cinderella, goldilocks and the three bears, The Little Matchgirl, etc. Do I even have the right app?
@EJGilbert After the Welcome Back message, do you see an Account button? If not, I suspect that you need to sign in or register by creating an ElevenLabs account. It's possible that this is a required step in order to import your own files. I did this as soon as I installed the app so I've never seen what happens without first signing in.
@EJGilbert That's very odd, as I also created an account via Sign in With Apple and I'm not paying extra for a premium account with them so I'm not sure why the app isn't providing a button to import your own files. Are there any other ElevenLabs Reader users who could comment on this?
Even huge company like #google sucks in #UX so much. This is an embeded video on a random page. Yeah, I use #firefox containers, and everything google related is opening in one specific container to limit their spying on me. I opened the page in different container, thus I am not signed in. Well ok, give me the link to the youtube video and I will watch it there? In the right container? Youtube UX: no link to the video, but here you can watch some different stuff...
@Razemix Yeah, you would think, right? I did too. It would behave the same way as when the video actually shows up. We could call it a consistent UI. But no. The logo does nothing. It's not a link. Actually clicking on it took me to the suggested video as i is partially rendered under it. I had to open dev tools to dig out the video link from the iframe src attribute as there really is no link to the video in the view.
@Razemix Oh. I just figured out there is a context menu on a right click. Invested years of playing escape rooms and puzzle hunts is starting to pay off.
