My whole life I have seen advertisements for desk jobs that required people to have driver's licenses, use of a vehicle, and insurance, even when there was no driving involved in the job at all.
Requiring a driver's license for employment is now prohibited in California if driving is not reasonably expected to be part of the job duties. This is a huge victory for people who use transit and cycling for their mobility.

For anyone who ants to try the new Toby Doom Launcher, you can download it from stormux.org/downloads/toby_doo…
Just unzip it and place all the files in the top level Toby Doom folder. The zip file contains the source code, the compiled .exe launcher, and some examples for custom games in the TobyCustom folder. There's also a _internal folder that contains all the stuff the .exe launcher needs.
Hopefully it works well for you. For #nvda users, you will need to press alt+down arrow to expand the combo boxes. I plan to eventually look into this and see if they can be expanded by default, but for now it's time for a break so I can actually play Doom instead of coding for it. 🤘

Ever seen the HTML produced by an MS Word export? Blood fountains from your eyes. I once cleaned up such a HTML, and the size of the resulting clean HTML was less than 20% of the original. They even used CSS classes, but then explicitly repeated their definitions every.single.time (like "<p class="foo"><font size…><font family…><b><i>blabber</i></b></font></font></p>", with "foo" of course having font size, family, italics, bold already).
But right, worse examples are no excuses…
If you're surprised Tesla takes and keeps recordings from their cars after seeing the news about the Cybertruck in Vegas, you shouldn't be. This is not something new. Tesla has been taking and storing media for many years, claiming it's used to train their AI capabilities. You can't opt out either.
And Tesla employees do access it, make fun of you, make memes, and share the content internally, without any legitimate reason to access the content.

While this is about Tesla, this is a growing problem across this and other industries.

so yeah, the ladybird dev is boosting conspiracy theories and claiming he's been instructed to participate in "reverse racism" against white men as an exec, and how he was "scared to rock the boat".
if you weren't convinced that he's just an asshole by his "pronouns are political" statements before, then yeah.. here's him diving even deeper into this garbage.
it's always the same. starts with "pronouns and genders are political" and devolves into this kind of stuff. this is basically him saying he believes in white replacement theory.
Edit: removed the transphobia claim since he wasn't *explicitly* transphobic

I was randomly checking when I have to renew my subscription plan to @Tutanota.
I was surprised to see that @Tutanota quietly raised their prices from 36 €/yr to 39.99 €/yr for the Revolutionary plan and 96 €/yr to 99,99 €/yr for the Legend plan.
Previous announced price plans (tuta.com/blog/announcement-new…) .
By the way, @Tutanota your in-app plan’s prices in French is misleading. It reads “39,99 €/month paid annually” which means 479,88 €/year.

in reply to Kevin Beaumont • • •If Elon Musk can unlock your Tesla, provide location data to authorities, and recordings of people inside the car,...what else can he (or a hacker) do with your vehicle?
Crash it?
Disable the steering or brakes?
Release conversations to competitors?
Photograph your kids?
Prevent it from starting in an emergency?
Force you to upgrade needlessly?
Make it very expensive to maintain or operate?
Enshittification means paying, but not owning, and certainly doesn't mean control.
