Earlier this week, we reported that Meta had introduced a URL which forces the Facebook Mobile site on desktop browsers. This was working for some people, but it was not working for a significant number of others. Meta tells us they have resolved this issue now, and our tests suggest that this is correct.
If the URL did not work for you before, you might try it again. It is: facebook.com/?force_mobile=1.

I published a new article, 'Exercise Caution When Using runBlocking on Android'.

In this article, we will delve into its internal mechanism and explore why it should be used cautiously by looking at some sample cases, particularly in Android.

@rommix0 well, for sure Grok... Deep-seek is a bit questionable. While it's good they got to make the weights with less power, safety appears to be out the window with it and there was a lot less review of that by the Chinese. So I could see the rise of some of these open ones spurring further changes there on it.

The CAQ government's dirty little not-so-secret secret about the province's emergency rooms is a refusal to continue to educate, vaccinate, update, etc. the citizens about COVID-19, influenza, RSV, etc. spreading at an alarming rate..

But, hey, CAQists are gainfully employed at the fancy, new bloated piece of garbage organization *COUGH* SANTÉ QUÉBEC *COUGH* to put out lies and bullshit and make cuts to healthcare. montreal.citynews.ca/2025/01/3…

As if Shopify's policies of propping up Breitbart, QAnon, Proud Boys, etc. wasn't reason enough to dump Shopify in the past, right?

If you deal with #Shopify for your website, etc., consider dumping them immediately.

This flavor of treason is not surprising given that the dude’s wealth is dependent on retail sales in North America, but it’s still treason.

* Neutrality Treaty: The US retains the right to defend the Canal's neutrality, but this does not give the US any ownership or operational rights.
* Cooperation: The US and Panama cooperate on matters related to the Canal, including security and environmental protection.
Key Points:
* The US no longer owns or operates the Panama Canal.
* The US has a right to defend the Canal's neutrality, but this right is limited and does not infringe on Panama's sovereignty. (4/5)
in reply to victor tsaran

* The Panama Canal is a vital waterway for international trade, and its smooth operation is in the interest of both the US and Panama.
In summary, the US's rights to the Panama Canal have changed significantly over time. While the US played a crucial role in the Canal's construction and operation, it now recognizes Panama's sovereignty over the waterway. The two countries maintain a cooperative relationship to ensure the Canal's continued operation and neutrality. (5/5)

The CAQ government thought they could work on a wide range of commercial, economic, political,, etc. matters of interest to CAQists by having offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Miami...

HOW ABOUT CLOSING THESE OFFICES AND STOP WASTING TIME, EFFORT, AND MONEY ON THIS KINDA PROPAGANDA BS!

About the last boost (snyder.substack.com/p/the-logi…), I want to focus on this part at the end:

> As for the rest of us: Make sure you are talking to people and doing something. The logic of “move fast and break things,” like the logic of all coups, is to gain quick dramatic successes that deter and demoralize and create the impression of inevitability. Nothing is inevitable. Do not be alone and do not be dismayed. Find someone who is doing something you admire and join them.

FYI The initial tariff list... personally, we have a handful of things we'll need to find substitutions for, i.e. protein shakes, wet wipes, etc., but that's not a bad thing, IMNSHO.

ALSO: Going to stop patronizing certain pissant-supporting companies, i.e. Walmart, etc.

@pitermach I was actually surprised I hadn't already done so when I linked the repository in this post the other day! The plugin doesn't have everything completed, but I can definitely make a compiled version. I unfortunately only have setups on Mac and Linux to compile it — I'll probably have to figure out a GitHub action or something to get a Windows version. What OS are you looking for?
in reply to Reilly Spitzfaden (they/them)

I mentioned a lo-fi plugin I made with cell phone codecs, and I just published an initial release! There are some features that are still in the works, but there are plugin files available for macOS, and the codecs and downsampling work:

If you work in government and are asked to remove content from websites (as a result of executive orders), please use the HTTP status code 451 instead of 404.

451 is the correct status code to use for these cases, and you'll be doing the rest of the country a service by using it.

Addendum: you should also include a Link header with the link relation "blocked-by" that "Identifies the entity that blocks access to a resource following receipt of a legal demand."

Edit: this post originally indicated that it looked like the CDC uploaded the data, but we don't really know who did it.
