Nevím jestli by ale jiný tool měl takovou podoporu všech těchto technologií.

Extraordinary episode of Desert Ireland Discs yesterday with [Nemone Lethbridge, ](bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0027l20)

We had a delicious chicken dinner, at teatime last night, which means the sprog gets her weird dinner of leftover chicken, gravy and pasta tonight. Weird? Maybe. Delicious? So she claims.

Another day of uncertainty at work, because for the next fortnight we're all really in limbo as to who's staying and who's going. There's still the job to do, but the uncertainty nipping at our heals and I imagine that it's not just me who's finding it hard to focus on the actual work rather than start surfing the job boards.

Really enjoyed the new Doug Richards novel at the weekend; I read it in a single sitting. Then weirdly felt like my own grandfather as I went up to bed at 1AM, telling my daughter not to be up late gaming on the way. Just what used to happen to me for my latter years at secondary school and college.

in reply to Sean Randall

The sense memory was extraordinary. As I turned the lights off and walked up the stairs, I could honestly hear the clatter of my granddad putting the TV remote onto his silver drinks coaster, the creak of the chair as he got up, the firm *thunk* of him switching off the TV at the wall and the gentle roar of the kettle as he took himself a cup of tea up to bed.

Sounds I haven't heard since I left for college nearly 20 years ago came back with a sharp, fluid pang I haven't felt for a long time.

in reply to Sean Randall

No idea what's wrong with me lately.
I was waiting for my daughter to show up yesterday and told my NAS to give me a random episode of The Next Generation before putting something joint on the TV.
I didn't recognise the plot at all. None of the names of the species, none of the lines, nothing. it was a pretty forgetable one from the first season with the only real notable thing to my mind being Tasha's wave goodbye at the end, but still.
Growing up I could practically quote the episodes. I used to mute the TV and lipsync, I was that... engaged.

Concerningly I am getting old. I don't think I've watched more than a handful of episodes since I met my now wife, over 6,700 days ago.

To add to the sense of doom my life seems to be in at the moment, we sent our daughter out for the first time in an Uber unaccompanied yesterday. Uber Teen has come to town, and she's quite comfortable using it by herself.
This frees me up from making round trips to collect or drop her places. But it felt surreal and not very pleasant, watching her get into the car from an upstairs window then following along on the map. Just another one of those milestones, I suppose.
Anything could happen! Of course it could. But then it always could. "It does not do not to do because of what others could do but usually won't do" as a wise old friend said to me once. We have to live.

Was läuft hier schief? Ich selber habe keine Erklärung dafür...
Ist das ein Bug in der aktuellen Stable?

Nvidia's RTX 5080 is Actually an RTX 5070
"...or at least it should be based on its hardware configuration. This is the reason the RTX 5080 is so underwhelming: it should be sitting in the 70 class at a lower price point, delivering much more impressive gains generation over generation. Instead, Nvidia has become greedy, ..."

#uspol Ezra Klein nails it: “That is the tension at the heart of Trump’s whole strategy: Trump is acting like a king because he is too weak to govern like a president. He is trying to substitute perception for reality. He is hoping that perception then becomes reality. That can only happen if we believe him.” [gift link] nytimes.com/2025/02/02/opinion…

Impressive response from PM Trudeau, which spans 80 yrs of history.

It's sickening to see the violent stupidity of MAGA directed outward. I can't imagine we'll be forgiven or fully trusted again in my lifetime.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the Maritimes. We take our children to MTL and TOR whenever we can. Vacationed in VAN and Banff. We've been treated with more respect by Canadian immigration officers than by our own.

Best neighbors ever. I'm sorry. 🇨🇦 🇺🇸

Here are the products on which Canada is placing retaliatory tariffs. Eggs. You asked for this, assholes.

#Movuary day 3 brings you a classic example of why I should not be allowed to make music like this, whatever this is supposed to be. I don't know how to classify it, and I wrote it. Creapy broken jazzy dub and bass? I dunno...

Earlier this week, we reported that Meta had introduced a URL which forces the Facebook Mobile site on desktop browsers. This was working for some people, but it was not working for a significant number of others. Meta tells us they have resolved this issue now, and our tests suggest that this is correct.
If the URL did not work for you before, you might try it again. It is: facebook.com/?force_mobile=1.

I published a new article, 'Exercise Caution When Using runBlocking on Android'.

In this article, we will delve into its internal mechanism and explore why it should be used cautiously by looking at some sample cases, particularly in Android.

@rommix0 well, for sure Grok... Deep-seek is a bit questionable. While it's good they got to make the weights with less power, safety appears to be out the window with it and there was a lot less review of that by the Chinese. So I could see the rise of some of these open ones spurring further changes there on it.

The CAQ government's dirty little not-so-secret secret about the province's emergency rooms is a refusal to continue to educate, vaccinate, update, etc. the citizens about COVID-19, influenza, RSV, etc. spreading at an alarming rate..

But, hey, CAQists are gainfully employed at the fancy, new bloated piece of garbage organization *COUGH* SANTÉ QUÉBEC *COUGH* to put out lies and bullshit and make cuts to healthcare. montreal.citynews.ca/2025/01/3…

As if Shopify's policies of propping up Breitbart, QAnon, Proud Boys, etc. wasn't reason enough to dump Shopify in the past, right?

If you deal with #Shopify for your website, etc., consider dumping them immediately.

This flavor of treason is not surprising given that the dude’s wealth is dependent on retail sales in North America, but it’s still treason.
