I moved the #Friendica Wiki to another server. I need some people to test it and see if all works. I will then solve the problems pointed out.
The initial setup was not done by me. It was still on a server with php 7.4 because it did not work with 8.x due to some plugins. I removed those plugins, apparently not maintained since 2014.
I also saw that it loads some js from some CDN, I don't like that either, so tips welcome on that. Maybe there is a plugin that stores such stuff locally?
Also can you suggest a free service to analyze your webpage, show problem, broken links and such?
I saw that the Avatar (only a systemwide standard avatar for all users) is not displayed in my Firefox, but looks fine on Chromium. May be a DNS issue, so local issue only, seems tailscale some how messes up my DNS resolution. But please have a look for any embedded stuff that does not load!

I use this for a local website and think it is also possible for a live website. I think there was also some option to adjust how many 'clicks' will be done per second.. or so

@utzer [Pleroma] I usually use chromium.. Now I tried also with a (quite) fresh firefox, I think without addons.. shows the same problems.. Network console shows: "NS_ERROR_CORRUPTED_CONTENT" for bootstrap and some other files..

Right now, I'm getting 404 for all pages. Earlier, I looked up the 'moving accounts' page and the layout wasn't how it should be. I'd send a screenshot if I didn't get the 404 right now :)

@gmc I am constantly working on it, it was 404 for some minutes, right now it should work and also what you describe should be fixed right now. But I will adjust some nginx conf further.
The problem with defer is that all the code using g_auto* and friends will have to be rewritten, given the mismatch between the two. I don’t particularly like the fact that we’re deferring the execution of a block instead of tying it to a type declaration; it feels wrong and overly C-ish, in a bad way.
@jamesh we have been keeping away from cleanup for portable code because of MSVC; if/when they get defer support, it’s going to be hard to justify remaining on g_auto*, which means it’ll need porting from one to the other, even if g_auto* is still supported
I guess you've got more faith than I do that Microsoft will implement new C features in a timely fashion. Given how long it took them to add C11 support, I wouldn't hold my breath for post-C23 features.
@jamesh apparently (and take it with the same truckload of salt I used when I read it) they are now looking at adding C17/C23 support; of course, they are still gating C11 atomics behind an experimental flag, so, really: who knows…
We might end up dropping MSVC support from GTK5 faster than Microsoft adding C2y support, if we want to add I Can't Believe It's Not RAII™ via g_auto*.
it's not like the cleanup attribute will be going anywhere, so we can keep using g_auto* where appropriate. IIUC there were concerns that getting cleanup in the spec would imply opening the door for more RAII, and something like “defer” still would be needed anyway in cases where only getting the address of the variable is jot enough. For example you need the EGLDisplay to destroy many resources and it's not possible to get it from the thing being destroyed (like an EGLContext) without using thread-locals or relying on the current one being the right one to use, and that's a case that “defer” handles.
(I hope I'm not mixing things up, at any rate, from previous interactions, I'm quite sure @thephd would like to have more of modern constructs in the C standard, but committee and implementor dynamics make it more feasible to “boil the frog” than to add new radical stuff in one go.)
@aperezdc @thephd of course g_auto won’t go away, but if/when MSVC adds support for defer it’ll mean porting a lot of code from one to the other, and all the subtleties that it’ll entail, because now the type auto cleanup is going to be tied to statements instead. Personally, I’d prefer more RAII in C, and less assembly-with-a-syntax, but I know that the ISO WG won’t save us. I guess this is going to be yet another reason for migrating away from C in the medium-to-long term
hmm, yeah I know this style isn't without precedence but it does seem rather clunky, almost the the point it counters the convenience of g_auto.
It also comes at the cost of another keyword, something long avoided by C (pre-C23 anyway) which I'm not sure it merits especially as C23 gives us annotations, making something closer to cleanup quite appealing.
In fairness I've not read the full post yet, perhaps I'll be convinced otherwise!

Google are breaking my mittens - Sonofa. Twelve years ago I knitted a pair of “self-replicating mittens” (web-goddess.org/archive/14046) with a QR code that pointed you to the pattern for the mittens, and I entered them in the Sydney Royal Easter Show. I was pretty proud of my cleverness. In the blog post (web-goddess.org/archive/11192) where I talked about making the mittens, I said:
I wanted my code to be as simple as possible, so I needed to use a URL shortener to mask my intended address. I settled on using Google‘s, reasoning that it was likely to be around the longest. (Though who knows these days, right?)
You can guess what’s happened, right? Google URL Shortener links will no longer be available (developers.googleblog.com/en/g…) as of August this year.
