Maybe the critical difference is that guys like Arnie, who were heavily selling a just-so story of American individualism, understood it was a just-so story, and were not actually trying to remake America as a pure free market in the misguided impression that that's how it would really be best

I think the more worrying part is that ladybird is also allowing AI into their project. but it's more like "AI kinda sucks and writes bad code but if it helps you without ruining the project than sure" than an outright approval that servo is trying to do.
