This comment on the Lobsters discussion of the recent Ink & Switch article about malleable software: lobste.rs/c/mqixy2 expresses one of my misgivings about depending on generative AI as a tool in one's workflow, for coding or otherwise:

Obviously depending on constant access to a remote LLM is also problematic.

@hisold That was exactly the reasoning I approached the Aegis team with đŸ€Ł And yes, I'm with you there. And we try that. It's just not exactly trivial for each app to get it RB, and also depends on the frameworks used. In general, apps written in Java/Kotlin are easy to RB (with some exceptions), Flutter is a little tricky, React can become a headache, and so on. We're doing our best – and we hope to reach 50% coverage soonℱ (currently we're at 47.5%).

🇬🇧I can't recommend the EU-funded DNS service #DNS4EU because access is logged. When you override warnings to access "harmful websites" they even log your IP address. techradar.com/vpn/vpn-privacy-


There are government-free services that do not log: privacyguides.org/en/dns

Update: I understand now the IP address is kept for 24 hours to prevent the confirmation prompt from showing again.

lol, i too have this problem. somewhere down i believe that if i read the manual page in some different light, some understanding might dawn on me (NATed peer should matter?) but i have yet to make sense of it.
