seems buggy as hell too, wtf? No albums or songs but if you click on the artist there it shows albums...
also these aren't even all the albums so it's drunk as hell and I KNOW my music is tagged properly as I use Beets for that. Doesn't matter how many times I tell it to re-scan, it pretends the albums don't exist.
PlexAmp in the third image...
LMS seems to have the best potential as a SubSonic-compatible server. Simple, fast, seems to work. The web player is missing gapless playback and the replaygain support it has doesn't do EBU R128, but this could potentially be done in a SubSonic compatible client.
However, my first attempt at logging in with my first test app, SubStreamer on iOS, indicates its API isn't fully compatible and it errors...
edit: it's also not filling in album/artist artwork... grrrr
iirc by default jellyfin does not use the local metadata but pulls from its own sources.
But once set up it works great. I use Feishin for desktop and finamp on mobile.
@rude I don't see an option for this, only whether or not Musicbrainz and/or AudioDB are enabled. Nothing seems to indicate there's an option to exclusively use local metadata; it just seems to ignore some of the local metadata completely for some reason.
I twiddled some more settings, try to force refresh on some albums/artists, nothing happens.
I'm aware that Musicbrainz has been suffering under heavy load lately and API calls time out so I'll be patient but this is just not looking very good 🫠

Rossmann is doing the work of God.
The recent data center outage surfaced the shocking reality of one adjustable bed manufacturer collecting 60 gigabytes of data per month per bed. Pretty insane data collection for a bed(!?)
Nest collects a mere 50 Mb, it’s still spyware. Rossmann goes on to inform us even though the device services have been discontinued, the device still uploads 50 MB of data a day to google.

Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on the configuration last week. I've made a couple of changes based on it such as getting a X870E motherboard and a faster disk.
> But even with all their skills, they can only see the so-called "on-chain" trades.
If it's not on-chain, this is even easier to investigate. Go get their private databases they use for their order books.
but also I wish our elected representatives cared even a fraction as much about the criminal activity happening on the stock market which is the same thing happening here, but significantly bigger. Nobody cares about dark pools, how they're front running retail trades stealing from regular Americans, ladder attacks to manipulate prices... all of Citadel... trillions of fraud over decades swept under the rug

I changed a lightbulb today!
And this makes me happy to be living in the future, because I think the last time I did this was 3-4 years ago.
When I was growing up, replacing bulbs was something that we did at least once a week.
When I moved into a shared house as a student, we were replacing at least one bulb a month. Around then, CFL subsidies came in and the cost of a CFL dropped to about the same price as one month's power consumption for an incandescent bulb, so we replaced all of them, and then didn't change a single bulb for the next two years I was in that house. The next house (which I lived in for around 5 years) also used CFLs and they would gradually have lower peak brightness so would get moved around to places that didn't need as much light.
We have LEDs here now, and they don't seem to fade. I think this is the first one to fail in 8 years (we did bring some older CFLs, which gradually died and were replaced). I'll see if this is a pattern (do they all fail after 8ish years, or was this an outlier?).

Hello everyone!
Here's version 0.20.2 of #GoToSocial; it's another bugfix release!
codeberg.org/superseriousbusin…
If you're updating to this version from v0.20.0 or v0.20.1, it's a very easy update with no db migrations.
If you're updating to this version from a version before v0.20.0, please follow the update instructions from v0.20.0, but replace 0.20.0 with 0.20.2 throughout. Be aware that the update to 0.20.x contains some potentially very long migrations. Please do read the notes carefully!
Release highlights:
name property instead of summary for alt text (for now anyway), due to compatibility issues with *oma, *key, and Iceshrimp.authorize_interaction to avoid surprising 404 when trying to do a remote interaction. Thanks for reading! Have a good week!

Here's where I'm stuck: How do I rig up a button that saves the current record *and* starts a new one? Do I have to write a macro for this?
Wow, just wow.
