Has anyone seen the Kindle version? For example, are all the headwords accessible through the Table of Contents? Some initial thoughts about Dramatized Dungeon Crawler Carl: Ellie sounds too young. If you read the book and even in the drama, Carl points out that she's 99, and she sure doesn't sound it. Honestly Agatha sounds like Ellie should, but that's just me. Cascadia doesn't sound anything like I thought, I'm interested in how they show how her character develops in later seasons. I'm glad they allowed Jeff hayes to voice Doughnut, but why did they have an actress meow? They could have gotten cat sounds from any library they had access to, but it adds a touch of something, I suppose. Some of the female leads are played by the same person and you can tell, as well as some of the male roles. Overall the sound design is awesome, and extremely detailed in places where you wouldn't think, particularly when it comes to Princess Doughnut and how she moves. I love the little musical backing tracks under the achievements. I also enjoy the commercials in between scenes, as if we're watching as a viewer of the crawl, plus there's some content that you don't see in the book which is cool. I'm glad I gave this another chance. The preview on the website doesn't do this thing justice and makes it sound like a low-budget graphic audio knockoff. When I first heard the sample, it kind of gave me Katniss Chronicles vibes. I've still got a lot to go but will report back once I'm done.
the mixing is absolutely awful on those. I have no idea what happened there. They had a Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon immersive audio and that one was excellent, so I had really high hopes for the DCC one. Sadly, I never finished the DCC audio because comparatively it was just so bad. The voices sound super thin and extremely compressed, no idea what happened with the constant weird inconsistent panning, it's just a mess. :(

In the very early morning hours of Christmas eve 1998, I was tuning around the dial of an old Panasonic shortwave radio, and stopped on the BBC. At the end of a program, a continuity announcer showed up to give a website URL.
Two things struck me about this.
1: I hadn't really heard that on shortwave radio before at this point. To me, shortwave and the Internet were these two totally different worlds that couldn't, and shouldn't intercept. How dare someone give out a URL on shortwave... or something like that, with the appropriate amount of sarcasm attached.
2: The continuity guy's accent wasn't the typical RP English so heavily favored by the BBC, not that I really knew anything about that, being an uneducated American. Notice how I spell the word "favored"? Anyway, his accent was very much Yorkshire, and quite obvious about it, which really made him stand out. I figured the regular guy was probably on holiday, and the janitor took the job for a couple of hours, because nobody else was around. I also doubt there is any actual truth to that.
Because of my very odd form of synesthesia, completely at random, that BBC continuity announcer from 1998 will show up just to very slowly say "dot c o, dot u k" at me. Nothing else. And then he'll go away again for a week or five, or maybe a few years. Maybe he'll be back in twelve minutes and thirteen seconds. You never know when "dot c o dot u k" guy will show up, and that's the only thing he ever says.

It's not about being able to use the mode or not, you're just going to have your Combi sounds mixed in with your non-combi sounds, though maybe Jason set Combination as a type under the types knob. If he did, then it was likely because you don't have access to it on the A/M series boards.

The FBI ran a sting operation in Europe where they created their own 'secure' phone and messaging platform. Their OS used portions of our code and was heavily marketed as being GrapheneOS or based on GrapheneOS.
Through this operation, the FBI provided criminals in Europe with a communication network they heavily trusted. It gave them much more confidence to coordinate and commit crimes. The vast majority of this crime was ignored for years to avoid exposing ANOM as being a honey pot.
In cooperation with many European governments, the FBI heavily encouraged and facilitated organized crime in Europe. US and European governments facilitated drug trafficking, human trafficking, murders, rape, kidnapping and much more for years while claiming it was GrapheneOS.
It's an outrageous infringement on the GrapheneOS copyright and trademarks. US and European governments did massive harm to the GrapheneOS project through doing this. They placed us in very real danger of violence from organized crime by selling fake GrapheneOS devices to them.
GrapheneOS building technology to protect privacy and security is completely legal. Our work is strongly protected by Canadian, European and American laws. A minuscule portion of our userbase are criminals and the claims being made by the French government about that are lies.
It's very likely a lot of the crime facilitated by ANOM wouldn't have happened without these governments providing criminals with a communications network they believed was completely secure. The way they wrapped it up doesn't absolve them of what they facilitated for years.
France's government and law enforcement wants you to believe GrapheneOS and Signal are somehow responsible for crime. French law enforcement operates with impunity and has extraordinarily levels of corruption and criminal behavior. They're the ones committing and enabling crime.
Based on the investigation done into it, it had a small subset of GrapheneOS changes applied and they falsely advertised it as GrapheneOS. They likely took some of the changes in order to mislead people into believing they were given a variant of GrapheneOS. It didn't use the GrapheneOS branding though. They used the already well established name and reputation of GrapheneOS to appeal to those it was being sold to.
When booting up the phone, it displays a logo for an operating system called “ArcaneOS.” Very little information is publicly available on ArcaneOS. It’s this detail that has helped lead several people who have ended up with Anom phones to realize something was unusual about their device.
Doesn't matter how it was branded on the device, what matters for the infringement is how it was sold, we have information that they were being sold AS GrapheneOS using our trademark.

Nothing public no however it was stated to us by individuals similarly aware of these devices as those referenced in the vice article in contact with us.
I can see that if this were verified and true, with hard evidence provided, a big investigative news agency like The Guardian, would get their teeth of this and stick it on their headline pages. I think there is a lot of crap and conspiracy theories on the Internet and I still believe in true investigative jounalism. Radio Free Asia and other programs of Radio Liberty and such were lead by the propaganda agency called United States Agency for Global Media (which Trump recently defunded). It also supervised the Open Technology Fund (you can at the very least read on the wiki page of the OTF that it funded Signal). It is not a state secret that these are CIA programs. I can give you sources if needed when I'm at home. I'm pretty sure all of this was shown on their respective wikipedia pages but again, wikipedia is just an example for western and well accepted source
As I understand it, in a separate incident, the FBI implied that they had 'compromised' a signal network (99% certain they compromised an endpoint, person or phone, but wanted to FUD signal coz they hate it). gOS and signal being solid privacy respecting secure software is the connection.
France back in 2023 targeted Signal (discovered through a leaked memo) and it's service saying it wasn't secure to push ministers and others to French solution Olvid.
The same year French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said that he would like to force encrypted messaging services to introduce 'backdoors' to make them available to authorities. Mirroring the recent threat from Johanna Brousse toward GrapheneOS:
"These hitherto inviolate devices, which protect communications and which do not share data on servers, are a new challenge that the cyber prosecutor's office intends to take on"
While I use gOS and have a high respect for their technical skills and exemplary ethics and recognize the very real need for it, and the great work they've done upstreaming security for the greater android community, but my god there's a lot of drama associated, both internally and externally. They would be far better served with a calm and professional press presence. I have their mastodon feed in my RSS and at least monthly there's a flood of rant and screed about some press coverage or someone using their (GPL I think) stuff. Generally speaking they have a valid point in there, but the tone is off, a bit of taking the piss (humour) would go a long way.
Sometimes I fear they will implode and we'll lose this oh so necessary project.

I'd promote domain email as one of your features a little more! At this point it seems generally a good practice to register a domain and create email adresses that can simply be migrated to another provider rather than having to change your email address in 1001 online services. yesterday, after months being ignored by Microsoft when my data export from Outlook was not working, I finally circumvented the block using @thunderbird and can now import the last of my emails in my Tuta account!

Time for me to get dogpiled: I do not see the problem with AI image descriptions. I see a lot of negativity from blind people who I have a ton of respect for saying that it's exclusionary and shitty, but like...I use them when I post photos on Mastodon so people aren't completely clueless. Not putting any description at all because I'm *blind* and unable to describe my own images feels more exclusionary than using a machine that you know isn't perfect, but still at least gets the point across. I do agree that generally speaking, we should not normalize humans using AI image descriptions instead of writing alt text, but come on guys. All things can be overused, but that doesn't mean they're entirely pointless.

Jediné, co mě napadá je, že jak je u nás měření po fázi, tak že to má sice dohromady dost energie, ale ve skutečnosti to na jedné fázi tahá energii ze sítě a na dalších to zase energii do sítě posílá. Hádám, že máš 10kW Goodwe. To by mělo po nějakém softwarovém updatu zvládnout až 4 kW na fázi, ale AFAIK jen krátkodobě. Vždycky je rozdíl mezi tím, co naměří střídač a co elektroměr, ale tohle mi přijde fakt hodně.

Pak je to o tom se podívat, jestli máš spotřebu v domě vyváženou mezi fázemi. That's nothing new. 1️⃣ People buy antivirus software and install updates on their laptops, but never care about the router device, the gateway to the internet which is silently online 24/7 2️⃣ Manufacturers only provide one or two updates fixing some user facing features and done. No further security fixes.
That's why I am glad for #Turris. An open router running Linux, the OS I understand and that I use on all my PCs, laptops and servers (and soon phone I hope). With long software support. The first Turris I got is from 2015 and it still gets updates to the newest OpenWRT. ❤️
Good news: the router that came with my new fibre internet seems to have a somewhat accessible web interface. The bad news: it doesn't look like it has a lot of advanced functions, such as IP assignment for connected devices. However, I’m hoping that it'll be smart enough to give the NAS the same IP Address, even if it goes down and then comes back up again. I guess I'll find out sooner or later.
I just spent the last two hours debugging the Bluetooth stack *in anger* because for the last few weeks I've had to re-pair my mouse with my laptop. Every time. Remove mouse, re-pair.

Ok, while I agree with this, just because a hashtag isn't correctly capitalized does not mean it excludes blind/visually impaired people. A screen reader user always has the option to review the text character by character or word by word. I definitely agree, though, capitalize where you can.

A societal attitude we desperately need to end is that unpartnered people aren't as valid or socially acceptable. Single people aren't broken. Single people aren't lesser. Single people can and do have valid and meaningful roles in the world. The attitude that you need a partner to be whole is so unbelievably toxic and I hate it for many reasons. We need to let people choose their own paths for partnerships and quit making it a public social issue surrounding them. Who someone chooses to date or not date should not be as big of a thing as it is. Nobody should ever feel pressure to do something they don't want to do, and that includes finding a partner. Just let single people live their lives, there are all kinds of reasons someone could be single and pushing them around to conform to your societal standards is likely not helping them. If they want a partner and don't have one, your pushing and rushing it is likely just causing unnecessary stress. If they don't want one, you're basically shaming them for their life choices and pushing them into a box they don't belong in. Just let people do their own thing as long as it's not harmful. Okay? Okay. Thank you
