#Friendica needs new contributors!
I'm not used to do this, but with the large influx of new users and node admins recently coming from #Twitter, our small team is now behind the curve for handling support requests, bug reports and bring about much-needed features.
The project is built on a #PHP/#MySQL platform, but we also need people to be able to assist others just using the software to give developers some space.

@stim I didn't think Jesse's take on Mastodon was particularly informed or thoughtful, either.
Though I think he's right that #Twitter's role in relation to #news journalists has been outsized for its audience. That's part of what made it especially attractive to journos: it gave many of them more influence and bigger audiences.
And sometimes Jesse can be bit of a jerk, I think! But...I finally started donating this month after listening for years. Independent news is important.

I thought I would follow @aral's example and finally get around to deleting my two twitter accounts that have both been unused for over a year.
I deactivate the first one and get a stupid email telling me that I have turned off two-factor authentication. (But it does appear to be deactivated).
I try to deactivate the second one but am told that twitter has suspended my account (who knows why) and won't let me delete it. 😞

@Gargron as a recent escapee from #twitter it was helpful to have a wide-open mastodon.social that has accepted me until I find my footing and figure out where my people are. Many I meant to follow went to instances that are now full. Having a (temporary) central clearing house might be useful though I see the sense in encouraging it to stay temporary.

I wrote a nano tool that tries to extract the #Fediverse accounts of your #Twitter followings: fedifinder.glitch.me/
It searches for the patterns @user@host.tld, user@host.tld and host.tld/@user in the screen name, description, location and URL field. It displays them to you in the correct format for easy copying as well as a CSV download that can be imported to #Mastodon.
